    Sorry, I don't quite understand. If you have notification set to ON, you should get an in-App notification, even if you are not at home. If that is not what you meant, please explain more.

    Good video and a great step by step guide! I couldn't hear what you were saying - the background music was too loud which overshadowed your voice. Can it directly connect to the alexa app without smarthings/Tuya?

    Thanks for the feedback. I will reduce the background music for my future videos. As for directly connecting with Alexa, I personally have not tried it but I suspect this model does not and you will have to connect it via the Toya App. That being said, there should be some PIR sensor out there that should let you directly connect to Alexa. Unfortunately, most model just tells you that you can use Alexa or Google Homes but does not state if you can directly connect them the voice assistant. If you find a model that can directly connect to Alexa or Google Homes, do share it with me. Love to know which brand does that. Good Luck

    Thanks for the tutorial. Very good. Can I ask some questions, with the 'Motion Alarm' function. If ticked, does the alarm sound goes off when motion detected? how loud is the alarm sound? and can it be set to alarm sound only at particular time for example night time only from 1am to 6am? Thanks.

    Thank you for your kind words. For 'Motion Alarm' - this is assuming that you do not have an alarm in your setup and you are just using the App: the model I tested does not give an audible alarm from the phone. Just a push notification and vibrate when motion is detected. I am not sure if another manufacturer has an audible alarm coming from the App. As for schedule to turn the alarm on or off, I have not been able to send any smart scene to do that. sorry couldn't be more helpful. If you do get it to work, please let me know.

    Can you program the motion sensor to detect motion, turn on lights and turn off lights after 1-2 mins or however long I want to set? Thanks

  • @stevendigitalbutler

    @stevendigitalbutler

    8 ай бұрын

    Hi @mattshih5653, Usually turning ON lights after "x" minutes after motion is detected is possible, just add a delay timer befroe switching the lights. But switch OFF, I have not find away to do date from the App. We are using the device status change setting to turn ON or OFF but there is no way of saying turn OFF light after "x" minutes, only if no motion is detect. The delay function wouldn't work because there is no looping function that say after "x" if there is still motion, don't switch off light and wait for another "x" minutes to test for no motion. My motion detection runs on a 30 seconds cycle, which means it will check for motion every 30 seconds after the light is switched ON. If no want is in the room after 30 seconds, it will automatically switch OFF the light. But if you are still in the room, it will still switch OFF the light but immediately switch it back ON. If you are there for a long time, this can my annoying.

    Nice video! Is it possible to make the motion sensor turn on a light switch instead of a smart bulb itself? It's cheaper for me to switch the light switch than to swap the whole light.

  • @stevendigitalbutler

    @stevendigitalbutler

    Yes, you can. As you mentioned, you need to change to a smart switch, which will involve some wiring work. Make sure that both the sensor and switch can be control by the same App. Then the logic will be the same as per my video. Good luck and do let me know how it goes

    I would like to implement this scenario but I'm not so practical: if the presence of a customer is not detected for 5 minutes then turn off the air conditioner through the relative smart PIR.

    1st you need to have a Tuya competible Universal IR Blaster to make that work. If you have, then the logic would be similar to my video. Let me know ho wit goes.

    @@stevendigitalbutler I'll try to explain the question better: I need help because I can't understand the "PIR status" and "Nobody has passed" functions of the motion sensor to implement the following scenarios Platform consisting of 1 Tuya zigbee wired gateway + 1 zigbee motion sensor + Smart IR Wifi both acquired from the Tuya App platform Object1: check for the presence of guests in a room. If a guest goes out, the absence check begins for 15 minutes, but if he returns within that period of time, the count must start from zero. After 15 minutes without detecting any presence, a smart IR must be activated to turn off the air conditioner. Object2: set a magnetic contact on the window which, if it remains closed, allows activation of the air conditioner with its remote control, otherwise not. (obviously implementing a smart socket) Update: I understood that: pir status means it has detected a movement. After a period of time which is usually 30 seconds but can also be different depending on the detector, this goes back to waiting for detection and "no one has passed" appears until the next passage is detected If pir state means it detected human presence and after 30/60/120 seconds change to none passed until next pir state change, I could try like this: If PIR Status = no one has passed (therefore it is in this condition after 30/60/90 sec from when it detected the last presence...) i will delay 15 minute action which will switch off the air conditioner as long as the scope of validity is still no one has passed (condition which remains valid if PIR status is not activated again...) But it doesn't seem to work because the scope of validity serves simultaneously and only for the trigger and not to condition the execution of the action.

    Hi @joseph-ci3hl You should be able to create an automatic scene when your motion sensor detects motion then Send notification and select Message Center > ON then NEXT. Then select the Validity Scope and select Effective Period and you should be able to set the time where you want the motion sensor to send you a message. I personally have not try this but that seems to be workable. Do give it a go and let me know if it works for you.

    I think it is a Wifi inherent issue. I have tried moving my device closer to the router but the timing is still similar. It must be the time needed to communicate with the server. So to get quicker response time, I would say you need to process the request locally with things like Home Assistance but I have no experience with it to command

    Is your new router Wifi 6? I have not tried it, but devices seem to have problems connecting via Wifi 6 router. Some say that disabling the AX function in the router might work. Again, I have no experience with this. The only thing I suggest is to go through Tuya and or device manufacture documents and see if they mentioned anything on this. Here is a site where, hopefully, you can find an answer. Please let me know if you find a solution. Good luck

    Kind of yes and no. In the setting pages, you can turn on the alarm but only hear the alarm if your Tuya App is active on screen and the alarm will only sound for about 30 seconds. It will not give you a notice if your Tuya App is running in the background or is not running. In this case, you only get a notification from your phone
