Something else to note is if the opponent you're fighting is getting shot at by a teammate, they're likely going to retreat so make sure to take that into account to you know where the opponent is more likely to move to.

Or cutting off their escape route that way you’re not being redundant by shooting directly at them since your teammate is already doing that, especially if you have a great painting weapon, BUT if they’re fighting instead of retreating then you should just fight too to ensure that your teammate doesn’t get splatted regardless if you get the splat or not.
1:49 This bit is absolutely perfect I have nothing else to say about it, it's just perfect
I think my biggest struggle with sharking is patience. I feel like I'm not contributing if I'm sitting in ink for a couple seconds. I need to get better with this, I love the Tri-Slosh too much not to.

I'm a backline so it's fair if you don't trust this, but you could try luring people around corners more and take away from the front to get the splat
The cat is gonna the squid…!

We have bear ears so why not
As an agressive tetra dualie player this really helps, thanks!
Trying to anticipate and manipulate people’s movement is always fun. If it works you feel big brain, if it doesn’t you learn better for yourself how to escape next time someone tries to do it to you
To chime in about chargers and Splatlings. There is a variant of snarking that only non scoped chargers can do. Sometimes I’ll charge behind something to where the opponent can’t see me and they don’t know that I’m there, then when I’m charged up I swim out from behind cover and surprise them and shoot them. But you could only do that with the Nautilus and non-scoped chargers
This is a decent weakness of mine, also misjudging my range and coming out too early which just makes it even worse. It's kind of a mental thing too because i notice it happen a lot more when i'm lacking confidence or something
0:35 Shellfie is such a good song. Good taste Gem!
The idea of leading shots has come up multiple times in a few videos recently, including this one, when you think about it. Would you be willing to do a video covering the topic in depth and give some advice for working on it, like aim drills or something else you find appropriate? I am working on my Ballpoint right now, and the shot velocity on ranged fire is still screwing with me compared to something like Hydra.

That's exactly what I'm having trouble with too! The ballpoint is such a dope kit but it feels like a different pace.
Squid school is chirpy chips fan real
Gem Squid School back at it again with the thumbnails
I am aggressive shooter main, and I need to start being stealthy between shooters and non shooter like I use rollers as non shooter, and Splatana Stamper, these are my struggles as a aggressive player, I will try to practice that. This takes practice, I was jumped scared by a sharper a lot.

Pfp Sauce (Artist)? 🗿
shooters need to move forward more. as a brush i flank, get 2-3 kills and create and opening and when i finally die i see on the map that my team isn’t even past the halfway mark of the map. happens constantly

This is the most frustrating thing in the whole game. The game doesn't explain where each weapon should actually be.
@Psynapseful

That usually means your teammates have been frustratedly staring at your icon on the map. They wonder why you didn’t help them with any fights, and why you pushed so unsustainably far. If this happens to you consistently, you are flanking too hard. What’s correct in theory, and with team comms, is very different from what’s correct with 3 random people online. You can’t control 3 random people. What’s more likely-all 3 of them independently decide to play differently, or you as an individual decide to play off your teammates?

@Y2K4Y imo the game doesn't need to explain that. There aren't strict roles in this game. If I'm playing splat charger I'll be playing as a backline, but if there is an eliter I'll play a lot more aggressively in a more midrange roll. If I'm playing Squeezer sometimes I'll play closer to a backline if the opposing team is short ranged and the rest of my team is short ranged as well. But if I get unlucky and get a bow, splatling, and a charger on my team I have to play like a frontline. The game should explain each weapons strengths and weaknesses but it can't tell you how you should play because every match is different
cool advice, I'll try it out
And this is why I'm better with the tri-slosh than I am with the splatana wiper. Much easier to hit if you're shots are that wide. On the other hand, "Use whatever subweapons you have available to create these sorts of situations" is a bit harder when I'm using vanilla. And my sub is toxic mist.
Forgive me if this is a bad question teacher, but is there a good way for rollers--especially Carbon--to aim drill?
