Something valuable I learnt was that the more "ducked" your feet are the harder it is to transfer power from your feet to your edge. Less duck means more efficient edging.

Here are a few other tips that I forgot to mention in the video. 1. Check your screws after every session. Screws can come loose after a while causing you to lose a fin or have a strap pop off. 2. Never force tighten your screws if it's hard to screw down don't fight it, check your inserts to make sure they are clean. Fin and strap screws should always go together easily!

And take the hardware off from time to time to remove sand as can cause abrasion to the construction of the board.

Nice video. I think an important point you missed though was how the flex of your board changes as the width of your stance changes. If I ride a narrow stance I get a way more comfortable flex board at the tops and my board feels more efficient through chop. If I ride wide stance my board is way more rigid and stable, but I lose edge control easier in choppy waters - and my knees get more stress because of the stiffness that stance creates. This is the case for me atleast when I vary my stance on my Naish Monarch.

Thanks for this video. I just bought kiteboarding gear that came with a slingshot edge 146. Set it up wrong 😂 and not sure if the board is to big. But hey I’m learning 😂

Nice - thank you! One more thing - I have on occasion removed the straps and got confused about which way to put them back on - there is a wide part and a narrow part - which side goes in/out makes a difference

Howsit Jake. I ride a Tona flow with boots. I make nose, tail, tail fish grabs with ease. But battle with getting grabs such as the seat belt, stale fish or mute? Is it because I’m in boots, not flexible or wrong technique? How do I get better and making the more tricky grabs?

I’d say no, check tightness frequently or use screws with sawtooth design (often provided with boots) or a special washer to prevent from coming loose
