Hey in order to use the VOICE/Game EQ with the PS5 Here is the right setup: HDMI Setup - Console Settings - Audio Output From the PlayStation Home Screen, navigate to Settings > Sound > Audio Output. Change Output Device to USB Headset (A50 X). Change Switch Output Device Automatically to On. Under Headphones, change Output to Headphones to Voice Chat Audio. Change HDMI Device Type to TV. Under General, change Audio Format (Priority) to Linear PCM. From the PlayStation Home Screen, navigate to Settings > Sound > 3D Audio for TV Speakers Change Enable 3D Audio for TV Speakers to On. Change Apply Measurement Results to 3D Audio to Off.

Thanks! Can confirm this works, so this video guide is wrong. Easy way to test is join a party and use the chat mixer, this video is clearly wrong or the headset or PS5 needs a firmware update. This is a workaround until it's fixed! :)

If you watch the video you’ll see: your PS/cbox HDMI goes into the PS/xbox port on the base station, the the line HDMI port goes into your monitor. It’s all explained in the video guy

I’m confused, there’s only 1 hdmi port how the hell am I connecting my monitor

Mine just arrived but I’m having an issue. How can the A50X send audio to a capture card at the same as sending audio to the headset? If the A50X is on, then the capture card doesn’t receive audio. If the headset is off, then the capture card receives the audio. How can the cables be arranged to achieve simultaneous sound? Please help!

You have to connect it this way to get audio on both your headset and passthrough to your capture card for streaming . Ps5 hdmi goes to your in on your capture card then from your capture card itll connect to the headsets on the correct console hdmi . The main hdmi on the astro dock has to be connected to your monitor . Then youll be able to get audio on both headset and capture card . Audio will pass to your capture when headset is on . Remember to set the audio output on your console to hdmi tv to capture the gamechat . You still need an external mic if your streaming and want your audience to hear you .

Yes, if you plug the PC USB into the PS USB slot, you will be able to hear the PS5 audio through HDMI and the PC audio through USB at the same time. However, we recommend using Bluetooth for voice chat while playing on either console mode.

What do you guys mean? One is going in the Out slot on the Base station to your monitor and the other one goes to the ps slot and directly to your console

​@@codcobra0079not sure if you were able to figure it out. But your PS5 and Series X might have got automatically set to 120 HZ. And you will need to get back into the settings and change it to 60 HZ. Unless your tv or monitor has that. Mine doesn't and it didn't work because of that setting that automatically set to by plugging in the headset

It’s usually the volume of your headset. The mic picks up your headset audio. Turn it down a little bit and see if it’s any better

@@TheEbsorcistyou have to turn it down to 50% volume for it not to pick up the audio leak. That’s insane and you shouldn’t have to compromise the volume just to have the mic not pick up the gameplay. That’s clearly a defect that needs to be fixed

Have a question what if you have like a TV in a monitor? to that other monitor will it still work or something like that?

They need to start including zip ties and wire lums with setups that require this many wires.

Guys pls should I turn off the base station when I finish?

So can't get a display from my monitor, Using an Acer X32 FP monitor and it just refuses to display anything through the dac. The audio comes through but no video output. I'm just using mine with the usb connection and have my consoles connected to my monitor, works perfectly fine that way. I know that I'm missing out a key feature of the dac, But it's stupid that I can't get a signal out of it. If anyone has any tips on how to get it to work please let me know. I have the hdmi out connected to the display and connected the consoles with both hdmi and usb connections as instructed, all my hdmi cables are ultra high speed hdmi 2.1 cables.

@@ljb7572 Unfortunately not with that display. After I got the Alienware AW3225QF, It worked perfectly with that one. It also works perfectly with the MSI MPG321URX that i got recently. It sucks that it doesn't work with all displays.

Dear Logitech i have my pc and ps5 on a different monitor next to eachother how do i keep my screen on when i switch to pc ?

When I try to prioritise voice on the headset all it does is make things more quiet for both game and chat. If I move more to prioritize game it actually mixes the voice more with game audio. Anyone got any idea why this happens?

Followed all directions and my monitor isn’t coming on. I have a 32GQ750-B EDIT: Not sure what I’m doing wrong but I have a pair of Astro A50X (white) I watched a KZread video on how to set these up and I watched a PC tutorial and a PS5 tutorial as well. In the video it mentions to have another HMDI 2.1 which I have (Watch Onn) and it’s labeled as ultra high speed. Anyways I followed all the instructions in to video for the PS5 tutorial and my screen is black with everything hooked up correctly. So I tried the other way and there’s nothing else hooked up to the base station other then the power cord and USB I turn on the PlayStation and it works but that’s because I have my HMDI 2.1 connected to my PlayStation to my monitor. How do I get console audio to play through my TV if I desire? The answer surely cannot be that I need to remove the mixamp and reconnect my console HDMI cable to the TV... Right??? Edit: The audio will pass through when the headset is turned off. Man I hope this thing gets some updates.

So, im using astro A40 with the hdmi splitter from astro. I'm concerned that it doesn't have an optical cable.. is the a40s better in sound than these a 50s? And are there any 120hz@4k hdmi splitters that work with a40s?

Does the Tv or Monitor needs to support HDMI 2.0?

Sorry but I have my a50x settings different the way your settings are you can’t change between game and voice if you do that the audio falls off the whole settings you prefer are not the right ones for ps5

How do you use chat mix? The way this is setup, chat mix is not a thing anymore so the two side buttons for voice and game are useless on PS5…

If you only connect USB to the PS5, you will lose the ability to experience audio at 24bit 48kHz, as your audio experience will be capped at 16bit 48kHz for both consoles. However, you can still maintain 24bit 48kHz audio for your PC.

No, those are only visual settings that directly correspond to only the monitor. Has nothing to do with audio or the headset.

I see this uses Dolby Atmos audio now. Does this mean on PS5 were stuck with stereo sound or using the tempest 3d audio with these? Dont think I can go from 5.1 dolby digital back to stereo sound. Might have to stay with my A40TRs

Don't listen to this, dolby atmos is fine, I use dolby atmos with my home theater system and my Playstation 5, it's just whatever to your liking of what you choose, some people choose pcm because of compress sound but dolby atmos gives you everything and more as long as your system or tv has it available

Setup for ps5 connected to pc to use with streaming software (obs)?

I was getting a black screen. I couldn't start a game with this headset connected to my PS5. I had to manually turn off the Playstation and disable HDCP in order for my headset to finally let me start a game without a black screen. The damn HDCP prevents the passthrough from working properly. It blocks the signal so people can't connect recording devices and record movies or shows. Disable HDCP!

Does this not interfere if I have an external capture card (i.e. Elgato/Avermedia) also part of the line up between the PS5 and the base station or any other game consoles for that matter?

I turned my HDCP off and now I don’t get the dreaded “No HDMI device connected” screen anymore on my OLED tv when switching games or when turning my PS5 on. There is so much crap that has to work together it seems like anymore for these electronics to work flawlessly. I guess if I ever run into a problem later on, I can toggle HDCP back on and see it it fixes it.

Logitech/Astro has known about lack of optical ports on the PS5/Xbox Series X&S since prior to their launch. By now they should have figured out how to optimize the A50 to accommodate that. Other manufacturers seem to have no problem with it.

The Base Station will still require power to the red USB C port.

I’ve own the gen3 Astro A50 for years… then they shit the bed. I’m willing to give these another go or go with the new Sony Elites. Curious if anyone has experienced both and how the sound quality compares

The new Pulse Elite sound wonderful especially considering the $150 price. If you only have a PS5, I don't think the A50 are worth it. I've had better sounding headsets and ones with a better microphone for far cheaper. I really want to love the A50 but just cant

You have to connect the hdmi from your ps5 to the capture card then the hdmi from the capture card to the correct console hdmi on the dock , then the dock connects to the monitor . Once connected youll get both audio from console and headset at the sametime whether the headset is on or off audio will go through . Also on the ps5 settings your audio output should be hdmi tv so you can get the gamechat . Basically your capture card has to be connected before your dock . Ps5 to CaptureCard to Dock to Monitor .

Now I have the USB PC cable that is attached to the Duo cable dangling around🤦🏼‍♂️

When I go on Microphone Input Device my ps5 is only showing “microphone on controller” and not Astro A50. How can I fix this issue?

Had same problem, but it was because the usb c cabel not sticked right in my docking station you have to put the usb side in your ps5 and the usb-c side in your docking station on "PS5" properly

The A50 Gen 4 uses Atmos instead of Dolby Digital and 5.1 Ch. The product's Dolby experience has been upgraded to Atmos and is designed to work closely with XBOX and Windows. Atmos delivers an object-based spatial audio experience, and its playback is different from older formats. The Dolby Headphones button has been superseded by Atmos for a more advanced audio experience.

We didn't opt for the Dolby Atmos option on the Audio Format (priority) because the PS5's Atmos function does not currently support HDMI headsets, and we want to ensure a seamless audio experience for our users. As of now, we don't officially support Atmos on PS5.

Best Buy has both color options available but in limited quantities. I just picked up the black version and am already overwhelmed by how many cables it requires just for PS5 setup. My desk setup was all neat but now I have to do more cable management. What's worse is that even with everything working I am just not blown away by them. I mainly play shooters and my previous Stealth Pro have far better imaging to pick out directional sound. Going to mess around with them a few days then return if I'm not fully satisfied. Especially considering the price point.

Any news on the Astro a40 Gen 5?
