Having a 2021 F250 Platinum Tremor this unit goes above and beyond any other big screen out there. I was pissed when the 2022 dropped and had a bigger screen and trading in a truck after putting so much money into them over a screen just financially wasn't worth it but after installing this thing its not even a thought anymore. I'm running a sim card in the slot so when going down the highway playing a movie off any platform you want is great! (I don't recommend it) lol.... and over whatever you're playing the Waze or maps will speak over the movie with no issues... thanks for posting it was because of your original video I purchased this unit but got it directly through Autotech and they've been incredible with customer service through emails..

Ya that's why I always tell everyone if you want the easy support go through autotec. Dealing with the people overseas through Aliexpress its usually delayed since the time difference and sometimes the language barrier can be difficult. Overall this screen is the one to have!

This is the most informative video ive found on this unit, thanks for sharing. My question is when you open your sync3 app it populates after a few second , mine stays exactly the same all the time. Is there a setting that needs ro be changed in order to show toe settings? Thanks again for the awesome video ! PS it is installed in a 2018 F-150 XLT

I have this unit on my raptor and overall love it.....a few things i dont like is that it does not have a direct power button and a volume with mute button/knob....also I could not get att tablet sim card to work with it...i just use my Hotspot better....love your wallpapers thanks for this videos

Your console screen looks great, I feel like mine is compressed vertically and not very sharp. And the bottom section of buttons is too tall. Is there any way to adjust this? AutoTec customer service didn’t have any answers. Thanks! Great video.

Would you happen to make a video of using apple maps and leave it on full screen? every video i watch i never see anyone using it, and can you also do youtube videos, would like to see the quality and see if there’s any lag in the audio

Thru car play you are now using your phone as a pre amp. So you have to adjust sound on phone as well

Good tip!

Note - Just use your finger and touch those individual controls on the equalizer and they will move up and down. If you want a more bassy sound, set the center controls lower and left and right of those higher. If you play around with them you will find the sound you want and the system will save that for you. Also, you should be able to utilize the heated steering wheel when you use the touch screen setting of the unit's climate control panel as mine works great. Another tip that is a great tip I learned from another person on here is to buy a prepaid Mint Mobile sim card and you will have internet access 24/7 same as your cell phone and will not have to look for wifi hot spots. That way you are not missing out on a lot of the features that the unit offers as well as , you won't have to deal with the Apple Car Play for using navigation etc and that means no waiting for that annoying start up screen that comes in every single time that you start the vehicle..

Do you loose the massage seat future os any other futures with this?

Couple of questions: 1) I thought that I saw the connection when you were hooking it up but if I want to upgrade the rear camera to a better quality AHD camera. Was there a connection for it? That might be what the CVVD setting is for. 2) Did it come with an installation manual? If so how were the instructions? Who do you reach out for customer support/updates? 3) You didn't talk about the navigation through the Android tablet (vs. Carplay) Have you tried running Waze or Google Maps through the tablet? If so, how was the accuracy using thhe GPS antenna they provided? Sorry, I guess that was more than a couple of questions.

Not sure if you can change out the camera. I tried researching and found nothing on that. I was able to find a copy of the autotec install manual and used that. I usually ran Google Maps and Apple. I like googles satellite view when navigating. I know I've heard others who travel alot and they like Waze. I know when I was down in Texas Google gave me a couple extra different routes that Apple didn't.

Great video!! Quick question. Does your steering wheel sync voice button work when your in apple car play. I have an android and it used to pull up my assistant when i was in android auto. But now it pulls up the factory sync voice.

Did you switch it over in settings to vga? For back up camera. Also you could try and do a reset with the small button on front. If not might need to reseat connections

Hey buddy i have a 2015 f150 xlt super crew i bought it without checking bluetooth figure all worked but they said maybe the head peice is not right every thing works but bluetooth and when i start my truck it allways has to go though some resyncing shit so ford said 900 bucks crazy ....so you would say spend that on the radio like yours right im in canada though probably more but yours looks very nice

Ya if I had to choose between dropping $900 on oem vs this display, I would choose this aftermarket one.

Just 2 questions does the third brake light camera work with it and do the steering wheel controls work to pull up Siri

It works while driving and it plays fine in portrait. Even if you do full screen it still doesn’t go to landscape.

Hi. Wonderful video. Thanks. I am having an issue that maybe you can help me with. I recently reset my unit to factory settings. Since then my backup camera has stopped working. I get a read sign saying that there is no signal when I shift to reverse. Any idea how to fix this? Thanjsy

At 1:54 minutes into the video I show how to change the camera setting to vga. That should fix your problem.

Thank you Jim!!!! That did it!!! Issue solved. I had seen and tried that in the video but it hadn’t worked. What I did different this time is, after changing the setting to VGA, instead of hitting the save button right above it I went and hit the save and reboot button at the bottom of the screen. I truly appreciate your guidance. This screen and I don’t get along. I may bother you again with something else…. THANK YOU!!!

@@carsonbunnell4823 I believe the factory camera in integrated with the sync 3 module, so I would reseat the sync module connections and see what that does. When you switched the camera to VGA did you make sure to hit save?

Hey James Hope youre doing good man.. I ordered a 14.4 screen and tried to hook it up twice but for some reason don't think it's reading my sync module.. Everything works except my music, the radio is the only thing that plays and when I go into console it's blank and climate doesn't work either.. Any idea what the problem is? Much appreciated!

I would try and reseat the connection to the sync module. I've heard some reseat 2-3 times and then it gets them working. Let me know! goodluck

Thanks man..I just did a factory reset and that all works now but my park assist isn't working..have any idea why not? Do I need to change any settings?

Truck sat at the dealer for about 2 weeks, battery got drained. Ever since then the unit wont shut off with the truck as it used to before. I have the same unit. Have tried factory reseting several times. I have to swipe down to shut the screen off every time but the unit itself isnt shutting off like before. Any suggestions?

It would suck to tear the dash back apart but I would pull the main harness connections for about 10 seconds or so and plug all back in and see if that resolves since you’ve already done hard resets. Let me know

No it doesn’t do in bed camera. It comes with a harness for rca’s that just plugs into the back of unit.

They are retained nothing extra needed. No I don’t believe you can customize them though.

I have a few extra questions. 1)is the massage feature still available? 2) Ford has kinda shitty cameras, did you noticed any improvement on the image quality of the cameras with this screen? Not sure if its the cameras or the factory screen 3) There is an OBDii tool add on that autotech sells for this truck and their screen, would that be compatible with this unit? The one positive to the screen is your camera view is expanded on the larger screen and might look a little better because the screen quality of the new unit is 100 times better than stock. On the OBDii tool that I am not sure what you would be able to do with that. I will look into it.

some autotech pro screen user have informed their track skip streering wheel buttons do not work. I saw that in this video they worked great,is it only in factory sync 3 mode or do they also work on android mode? also.... I was under the impression these are the exact same screen as the autotech pro , but they are reporting theirs is QHD with a 2560x 1440 resolutiuon vs this one that has a reported at 1920x1200. there is a new player in town selling this unit Workshop 12 , and they also report a 2560x1440 resolution. I still have time to cancel my order since it has not shipped yet, thats the only issue with these product , all seem the same but manufacturers spec them diffferently.

@@canillocanillo3371 My skip steering wheel buttons worked, sometimes I would press it about four or five times quick it would switch to sync, but otherwise they worked. Also the screen resolution is not true. They are all 2k screens, the 1920x1080 is what the factory sync thats upscaled. If you thoroughly look through all the aliexpress ad you will see it says resolution 1920x1080 and then under screen size its a 14.4' 2k QLED. These 3rd parties are literally just buying bulk overseas and dropshipping.

@@brandonlively112 when connected to wireless CarPlay it uses the little mic in the lower left of the screen (assuming you didn’t install the cheesy aftermarket they send, I didn’t install it) but I’ve heard some people on a call will connect back to sync to utilize the factory mic but I was always told I sounded good on the mic on the screen.

This is what Autotec is selling. They are just a drop shipper. They just mark up the price and sell it under their brand name. There's a link in the description of the one I bought from Aliexpress.

It’s just some Chinese display. No actual brand. Autotec isn’t making these. Someone decided to make a website and call it Autotec and then label these displays from china as Autotec. They are the exact same screen.

Does the factory wired CarPlay still work with this unit?

Yep it all still works since you take the factory module and bolt it to the new display. FordPass app still works

Works perfectly fine just like it did before however the wired car play still only works thru the 8” display section of sync and as a result of the slightly stretched image it will show a distortion in the pixel quality of the icons in the sync-carplay.

If you can't watch supercross what's the point!!!!!! ET3!!! BRAAAAAAP
