Moin, es ist immer wieder schön, bei anderen Handwerkern zuzugucken um zu sehen, wie es bei denen auf der Baustelle gearbeitet wird. Top Job, gut gemacht. Grüße aus Hamburg 😁😁🧱🧱😁😁

How did they do this in the old days Rob? I know there are optical levels and water levels, but even a water level needs a hose pipe of some kind. Did they just start at a point and check level as they worked along?

I got taught to plumb bob down from wall plate height on each corner when setting out a timber frame Rob. If the timber frame isn’t plumb you might be right at the bottom but by the time you get to the top you could have varying cavity widths due to the timber frame being out.

yes, thats an excellent point and one I should have mentioned, thank you. The carpentry company we always use have an excellent reputation and when Neil, Frank and Darren turn up, we very very rarely have to check anything, but we still do for extra peace of mind. The only problems we found were changes on opening sizes to those that we had on our drawing. Thank you for your comment.

Sometimes the soffit isn’t on or other firms I’ve worked for do them when the brickwork is finished
