Good video. Here's the best tip you will ever get for people on a budget. Put some studio foam behind your video and audio monitors. It's called a "live end dead end" design. Then you will not have to go around the room looking through a mirrow so you know where to put studio foam. Live end dead end designs work very well because when the sound hits the wall behind you and comes back it dies right behind your setup and doesn't reflect off the wall and join in with the sound coming out of your monitors. I could go into reverent fields, standing waves, etc. but I'm trying to help the budget mided engineers. Concerning the monitors. I purchased two sets of these for my daughters room and they thunder for their size. When placed right they sound like there's a small sub in the room. They are perfect for studio engineers of all levels. Even though I'm running three sets of monitors, Adam, Fostex, and Yahama, with subs on the Adams and Fostex monitors, I'm going to buy a set of these so I can hear a mix through speakers the size of most cars and home sound systems. If you're just starting out he's right, don't think about it, buy them. Right now 7/14/23 PreSonus is selling them in the US for $89.99 (pair) and they're including the Prime version of Studio One 6 and a free $1000.00 worth of production software. Go check it out on their site and have fun mixing it up!

Thank you for such a great video. After researching all sorts of monitors, including M-Audio BX3 and BX4, Alesis Elevate 5, Mackie CR-X's, a couple of Behringer models and even those expensive JBL 305's (they're on sale for $135 each this week, however), I think I'll get the PreSonus Eris 3.5's. I do wanted to ask you how long the speaker wire is, and whether it's of decent quality. I recall having to buy better and longer speaker wire with the M-Audio Studiophile DX'4 that I bought ages ago. I almost went for the M-Audio this time around, too, but PreSonus seems to have a more flat response with less artificial bass and with more clarity in the mid and high ranges than the M-Audio BX4's.

If you were using these with a turntable and subwoofer......would you run RCA direct from your turntable to the sub, and then out via TRS cable to the main monitor? Or would you run RCA from turntable to main monitor AND THEN run TRS from monitor to subwoofer? (turntable has preamp, yes) Basically, what do you plug your turntable into first? The monitor like usual, or into the Subwoofer first?

The manual has a small comment that says you can reverse the inputs from your audio source to maintain the correct stereo image if you want the controls on the right side instead of the left. This is what I did - hookup everything as normal but instead of putting your input cables left-to-left and right-to-right, put left-to-right and right-to-left.

These are studio monitors for mixing and mastering audio on a very tight budget. They aren’t meant for the average consumer to use them to listen to music. Quite literally they are MEANT to produce a “flat” listening experience so as to help producers hear how their mix sounds and the individual channels from their DAW.
