Setting up new chicks in a brooder: Laying flock and meat birds

Welcome new subscribers! So good to have you here.
I have 2 different set ups for brooding chicks. I have a handmade set of brooders from Cliff Burr in Afton, TN, but I needed double the space and didn't have funds for another set, so I bought 2 inexpensive rabbit cages from Amazon. I will have to separate meat birds one more time because they will get so big so fast.
It sucks to have to wait for them to be old enough to lay, which will be 6 to 8 more months. I will probably keep the Whiting True Green separate and, if I can get Whiting True Blue, I may put them together or keep them separated, but that means another coop/run set up. However, I can sell chicks and/or pullets later since they're a specific breed that's sought after. The same is true for the Egyptian Fayoumis. We'll see what I end up doing :)
