Love the Rudsta. That's what I have. Built it myself, too. And yes, I had to take it apart at some point because those cross beams got me good. The air gaps on the side panels I just sealed with black silicone. Humidity keeps great. Just have to let the silicone set for 24 hours. And I hung my fans and lights with magnet hooks. So easy.

yeah you inspired me to take the plunge on the rudsta! I'm defo super happy with it so far!

@@GoodGrowing goes better with your plant shelf in the office, too, while the Milsbo in your living room really complements the sideboard next to it. Good choice! Any idea what you’ll do with the glass shelves? I meanwhile have 4, cause my son took the other Rudsta to Germany. No clue what to do with the glass shelves. Trying to think of ways to turn them into a shelf, perhaps just stacking them with log pieces between them. But where to put THAT?! I seriously have no more space for anymore shelves that stand on the ground. And they are too heavy and deep to mount on a wall.
Thank you SO much for this video! I have a rudsta that I built and then ended up putting my cables through the back of the cabinet which meant there was a big ol opening in the bck LOL. This video helped me and now I can close up the back and all my cables are going out the top. Thank yooooou!!!!! Drilling into the bottom was never an option haha
I have two Rusdtas and both times I put them together wrong. Had to restart both times lol. As for the gaps, I used clear silicone for the side panels and it's work really well.
The cabinet looks great,and your plants too👍 💚☘️🌱🌵

aww thanks! Yes I highly recommend a greenhouse cabinet to keep more needy plants happy in a smaller space. And they look gorgeous too as the plants are kind of on display :) if you have any questions, give me a shout cuz I could talk about mine all day 😂
I have a Baggebo that I turned into a little tiny plant cabinet. I had to use something to cover the sides though because it has mesh metal for sides. buts it's been working out pretty well. it's smaller than I originally imagined so I will need to get a larger cabinet if I want to get bigger plants into a cabinet. but this works lovely for my starts and small plants in need of humidity. for my first Ikea cabinet, I'm satisfied. I couldn't find any milsbo in stock anywhere near me so I just browsed the site until I found something that would work out. 🥰🥰🥰 Also I'm using a set of computer/gaming fans as input/output air flow fans plus have a tiny humidifier for it and a set of lights. it seems to work out pretty well so far. 🤓

yeah I was looking at that one too but wasn't sure how to deal with the mesh sides. I'm glad to hear you've sorted that! and yeah the milsbo stock has been very in and out lately. I'm glad I got mine when I did :)

@@GoodGrowing I just reused some plastic sleeves my kid had in their school supplies. Cut them in half and it covered perfectly. 🎉🎉 Super simple and clear to allow light in and keeps the humidity in. 🤓
You’re not the only who struggled with the Rudsta directions! I swear I had to rebuild it like four times because one piece was always wrong. I have a second one to build and I’m scared!

Ooh fun! I have a Detolf I bought already set up and I have a Milsbo tall in my sis-in-law's garage I have to pick up, build and modify soon. Now I want a Rudsta too lmao. Dangerous game these cabinets.

@@GoodGrowing it's a nice starter cabinet but there isn't much room. My Philo Florida has such large leaves, they're all pressed against the glass lol. Everything in there is pretty happy though. Now that it's furnace season my room humidity is in the 30s.
It looks fantastic....
ooooooooh I gotta get one someday damn it! hehehhee love the interlude lol
Awesome 👏 i just got my rudsta today and stressed out about drilling a hole on the metal sheet, so good to know i dont have to....

Love it!! What is the plant second from the left on top of the cabinet? Can't wait to set one up myself! Did you end up weather stripping?
I'm brand new to plants (it's been 2 months abouts) but I went wild and have quite a few and have been struggling on what to do when it gets cold. I never considered ikea shelves! Thanks!

welcome to the plant community! @thejunglehaven actually just put out a great video on tips for going into winter! so defo worth a watch :)
very nice!! does the light work well? do you recommend it? thanks
totally did the same thing!
Hey! It's necessary to put some Spray to avioid the rust? Thanks for all your tips! 🎉
I would love to get something like this but am conflicted. I have a Vitapod propagator which I use for seed sowing, cuttings, etc. I love how these milsbo/rudsta/fabrikor cabinets look, but I’m not sure of their purpose. Are plant supposed to be in them all the time or are they used for the same purpose as my Vitapod.
I have that cabinet and want to put my calathea and maranta in it but would u need a humidifier too?
Can I recommend you try a Vornado fan off Amazon? I have 3 of those AC Infinity fans in each milsbo and they are terribly weak. I had constant fungal issues with my anthuriums until I added a Vornado. If I could do it over I'd just have a couple Vornados.

I know you have them in your Milsbo too. But try a Vornado. It's so much better lol.

part of my issue is the noise.. I really can't concentrate if I can hear the fan going, also super annoying to film with... how is the vornado for sound?

I have sansi 36w and it does not fit hekyar ? How does yours fit?
Hi! Love your videos! My understanding is plants don’t like their leaves wet… yet the humidifier gets everything wet inside the cabinet… I am very confused!!!! Is this a myth? Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!
@GoodGrowing
9 ай бұрын
humidifier keeps the air moist rather than getting droplets on the leaves. also plants don't mind droplets on the leaves too much as long as they're getting decent airflow. Hence why people put fans in their cabinets
Well done you strong, independent woman, you! 👏👏👏Once you get settled in with the Rudsta, I hope you'll do a comparison video. I like the size of the Rudsta but would love to know the pros and cons of each cabinet. Thanks for another great video! 🤗

How have you found the Jungle Dawn, Emma? Do you feel it's enough to have the one in the rudsta?
@GoodGrowing

yeah I quite like it. It's very powerful though. Defo wouldn't be great for plants that prefer it a bit darker. Like I wouldn't keep marantas, calatheas, or most alocasias in there.

@@GoodGrowing Thanks, I am finally building my milsbo and I am having decision paralysis when it comes to growlights! I was looking at investing in one of the plantspectrum lights to see if I liked them but apparently they don't ship to the UK if the value is under 169 euros which feels like a bit of a slap in the face for a £120 grow light lol
I just got the rudsta but I can't get the doors to be even and it's driving me crazy.

The reason why I looked for a video for this product is to see how it's done to avoid making assembly mistakes. Now I have watched 3 people redoing their work without pointing to the problem they encountered.
I think that white cabinet would be better cause black materials absorb light and white materials reflect it.
@GoodGrowing

yeah that makes sense but I'm not sure they do this size in white... also it wouldn't match my home decor and that's like half the point

i don't know man, everyone wants to have that sort of job, where you do what you love, and you don't suffer for anything, but, do you see what's going on in the world? chickens are back home roosting. maybe, consider getting a steady job for year or two, just until things stabilize, cause when people stop being able to afford food and their bills, they're gonna cut you off first, and what then? most of the jobs of any level of decency will be takes, cause everyone will be working two-three jobs just to survive... all the best either way, just you know, changing patreon a bit doesn't seem sufficient -

Ikea is expensive price wise yet, low quality merch. I can't believe people buy that garbage. Thumbs down, and don't recommend this channel to me, ever.
