Setting up a DAW and Recording Music with 100% Free Software!

Музыка

In this video, I will be testing out an operating system called Linux Ubuntu Studio. Ubuntu Studio comes with free software loaded with everything for audio, video, and graphics work.
Thanks to Ubuntu Studio, setting up a Digital Audio Workstation (or DAW) is cheap and easy! There is a learning curve, but the trade-off is a secure system that is very, very reliable. The DAW software is called Ardour5 and will work on almost any distribution of Linux. Ardour5 is also free and is easily found when using software like Ubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, PopOS, and Linux Mint.
If you want more information and a tutorial on how to set this up in detail please visit - guitarpedaldemos.com/daw-setu...

I'm really glad to see free (as in freedom) software for music production getting some attention! I happen to be making videos about these for years. I work exclusively on Linux and Ardour is my favorite DAW so far. There's also many amazing free (and open-source) plug-ins available only for Linux. Also: Ardour 6 is bound to release pretty soon, so we can expect a lot of improvements in this workstation. Rock on!

Hey mate, love your videos and I have been noticing a trend towards cheaper or more affordable gear on your channel. Although this is awesome, I also get the vibe that you are now a bit negative with more expensive gear in regards to hand wired high end amps and expensive instruments in some of the videos. I just think that no matter how much money you make, you can always eventually save for that dream thing. I work at IGA and teach guitar so I don't earn a lot of money haha. My first dream amp was a two rock amp and it actually led me on a great path to finding my dream tone. Your channel helped me with that through your studio pro videos so thanks!. Your recent videos work very well for the general players but as a professional player I love seeing your reviews of ALL gear regardless of price. I think many people are willing to pay more money for what inspires them and makes them feel a certain way. I love all gear reviews, whether cheap or expensive....but money is just money. If you spend a bit more for something that makes you feel a special way, I reckon that's totally worth it. I earn about 40 grand a year and I just spent $1600 on a cabinet.... but I loveeeeee it.

(And yes, I know there’s few virtual instruments and effects on Linux too now, but it’s absolutely no comparison to what we have on Mac/Windows, and Wine is just another layer I could live without). Now, if all you need is to record couple of audio tracks (some kind of computized version of the old tape multi-tracks recorder), then it will work fine enough.
