This was the reason behind my birds nesting. The new bobbin cases were slightly larger than the old bobbin case. The top thread was getting caught because of it. Thank you!

Hello. Thank you. What is the hook at 1 o'clock for? It blocks the thread and it is not shown in the instructions

my singer #247 machine picks up thread and releases fine with out the bobbin in place, with bobbin in position , top thread wants to slide around bottom of bobbin case instead of going across the top. what's happening?

Could this be causing my thread to break/shred at the needle eye area? Thx

Is the thread supposed to 'click' once it passes the 5 o'clock position? It almost lifts the casing up and out (a few occasions it has popped up and out). How do I adjust it ?

ok Angela what I did was replaced little plastic cover and it stopped it...hope that helps

The thread clearance is too tight at 5 o'clock. You have to adjust the bracket, move it to the right 1/16th of inch or less. The case needs to wobble.

Okay but what if I have that clearance and my thread is still loose when I throw a stitch?
