Setting the Pigs Up to Clear An Acre of Forest
With our feeder pigs off to the processor for harvest, there is a vacancy in our woodlots. We move our Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs from the pole barn to the woodlot.

Pigs love the woods .. and .. they love water.. make mud and a little pond for them. In the Netherlands we consider that to be the pigness of the pigs..
Justin you and your boys are hard workers. I remember the days when you never had a side by side or any farm Vehicle to help you, but you still moved the animals from pasture to pasture. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I’m inspired, you keep me motivated.
Lily is such a cutie and a great worker. She's always there with her papa for milking, looks after the chickens, in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. Plus she has a great imagination when playing. Hope all the kids continue to enjoy this journey with their mum and dad. However I'm wondering when these kids get time to school. I know that they are all learning invaluable life skills but that academic side is so important to round them out.
The Family that cooks together, stays together! Love it 💯😀
Ooh, that's not just ice cream grass for the cows, that's frozen custard grass!
🙋🏼♀️🕊. Love ❤️ your family Lillie looking just like her mom. I love all of you working together.. especially when you see them do the problem-solving coming with-up with answers …. All the time , you are the Rhodes family well oiled machine. The Lord has blessed all ! Your efforts 🍀🕊🍀🕊🍀🕊. Blessings 🙋🏼♀️🕊🍀💕🕊🍀. It’s never a Show ……!!!! it’s a visit ❤️
Justin, suggestion... Add a hot wire on separate short posts about 6-8 inches INSIDE the poultry netting. The double barrier helps with pigs testing the netting.
Justin you and your family are truly hard working homesteaders. Love watching your day to day routine. Beautiful cows and pigs!!
The guy that collected the sample placed his thumb on the cap while filling bottle thereby contaminating the sample.
Justin when I see your videos I am truly fascinated ‼️ your children, Rebecca, all so hard working ‼️love the videos,
I know from experience with other large animals that you are all working hard yet you make it so pleasurable as a family. Fun to watch.
Love seeing your family work together. Poor 🐷 not trained to fence yet.
Your land just looks exquisite!!! It’s looks like Jesus has been walking through the field with you.
That's so cool! The pigs will love it in the woods! Your kids are amazing! It's unbelievable how much they grew and matured! Awesome family! Blessings! 🙏🤗💜🤗
That is so amazing-yous just move on to the next thing and those pigs look happy out there. Your kiddos are such great helpers. Thank you for the share
Would love to see more of Jonah…he is such a hard worker and is so smart…give him more credits…❤
You are smart to listen to what those pigs are telling you!!
When will we see the Rhodes Homestead Band? Justin on the keyboard, the boys on the bass guitar, guitar and drums while Lilly sings. Bring on the music.
Josiah n Jonah are the same height..its cool to see the kids grow with the farm
First time we’ve seen a shot of Jonah and Rebekah standing together in a while and wow Jonah got tall!
Still impressed with Jonah’s initiative! And I love seeing the other boys helping both of you! But let me not forget Lily and her amazing cooking skills!
Farm life at its BEST ..ya doing a great job..I live in the city Of Houston..but my back yard and small part of the front Growing all kinds of things 🌱🌱
Hi..... Justin Rhodes and Rebecca, thank you for showing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐣🐥🐩🐕🐈🐑🐄🐖🐇🌱🌺🌹🌻🌼🌸🌷🏡🎥👍👍👍
I have to say, I don’t care for the way Dan edits Justin’s videos. I like the old format and the daily vlog without the “click bait” style thumbnails. Maybe the the stuff on abundance plus is more like the old stuff, I don’t know because $15.00 bucks a months is to much to pay in my opinion.

I can just hear the cries of astonishment that some people will howl, seeing a child driving the lawnmower
Living the dream.
Thank you for sharing your everyday life with us. 🤗
Those readings in streams can change daily.
Love what y'all are doing, can't wait to full fill my dream one day
You might try making the pigs a shelter in the new area and leave them in it for 24 hours before letting them out to their new area. A safe, comfortable, night sleep should help calm them down when you release them.
I see you with the baby on your back and I immediately stop whining 😏 🤣 Thank you..
Thank you for the video.
Great job. You're doing it.
I noticed you use a Scag Mower. It’s is a fine Mower but I believe there is a superior Mower that you may want to check out. They are pricey but well worth the investment. The Mower is the Altoz 766 or the 766I, it is a Track Mower with a rough terrain mowing deck.
Love ❤️ from Pakistan lahore punjab
I love the consistency
Watching from 🇵🇭
And so it comes full circle and it all begins again
Hope the little pigs get adjusted well and don't bust out any more.
Wish to have farm like that
Very good video, So if we all are w/out electric. Could you show how to use a smoke house to cure the meat we have in the freezer. Carl FONDEROSA FARMS MD.
Nice
Hi from Rutherfordton! I got to get me a few pigs… guessing it’s the wrong time of year… so many projects, so little time!
loook wprk to slow for the pigs;))♥️♥️♥️
I’m surprised you didn’t keep 1 male and 1 female of the market pigs to breed. Especially with food supply uncertainty on the horizon
What kind of pigs are those?
What brand is that yard cart? I’ve never seen one like that with the wheels close together and centered before.
E. Coli is extremely dangerous! Just last week, a healthy 61 yr old lady in our town, who working at one of our grocery stores on Tuesday, fell ill, was diagnosed with E. Coli on Wednesday, died on Saturday, and she was buried today. Our small town is very sad ... everyone loved her. Please take E. Coli seriously. Love your family and all the videos. Friend from WV.
Sweet vlog!
Just a honest question, why don’t you spray the cows for flies?
Thumbs up
What kind of rubber boots does Rebecca have on? I have been searching for a low cut, I have never seen something like that around my area.
Blessings to all!
Do y'all have any poison ivy in your woods? I want to put my pigs in the woods, but it's covered in poison ivy. I read some things that make me hesitant to let them go in there.
Are the market pigs how you guys make cash flow for the homestead? always wondered how it was you guys paid for utilities and fuel and the likes without traditional jobs. I know you guys have A+ and the channel but for someone just starting a full time homestead its an interesting idea to me on how to cash flow the farm while making food for yourself

breat to see you chipping away on clearing - you have resources to tap but it takes work - letting the animals to prep is not a bad idea but they may do better in land that has been cleared for a year or two - good you are testing all water and tapping alternate sources - a small ro system may be something to look into - do the homework and then the footwork and things will work out

you may want to let compost rest for another few mos since it could be hot - for best results - you know this of course - try some experiments - you may just need to spread it out more or add it to newly cleared areas for needed boost

U let ur kids be kids. the climb all over everything just as i did at their ages. I know many a parent today who would never let their kids do what urs do. I love it.
