This was one of my favorite episodes. Seth is so thoughtful and genuine. His love of mountain biking and education shine through the whole episode. I think he even challenged some of the ways Payson thought about mountain biking. Great listen.

I have met Seth in the beginning, and he is the same person now as he was back then. Took a video of him doing a sketch jump at Markham and introducing Kev to the MTB scene. It's awesome to see that continuity and enjoy the genuine love of a hobby/sport!

Authenticity, growth, and ability to educate are what make Seth great! He does a video on a dream custom titanium bike one day and how to get a good used bike the next. I really enjoy his family content lately and look forward to his evolution. Not to mention the work he has done with Berm Park and his recent Bentonville, Arkansas trip. He truly is an ambassador for biking and bridges the gap between industry pro and beginning rider.

Seth totally nailed it when he talked about making videos for regular folks ( that like to bumble down trails like me ).

Thank you for this! As a aspiring MTB content creator @sethbikehacks has been an inspiration for me. Hearing his thoughts on how it all started and his approach confirms why he is the God Father of MTB KZread. You did an amazing job of guiding the conversation Payson. Your natural no pressure interview style was easy to listen too. Keep up the great work!

I remember when Seth was somewhere under 10k subs, I think he invited people to email him with questions, so I emailed with a clip of myself learning to bunny hop, he email back with a nice email with some tips, which I thought was really cool. Sorry I never really got good at the bunny hop.

I'm sure there are a lot of factors to Seth's success, but I think by far the most important one is that the guy is SUCH a hard worker. It's incredibly admirable. It can't be understated how much extra work it is filming what you do and his videos are immaculately put together. The level of effort that has gone into his channel is nuts. If anyone deserves to be successful, it's this dude.

4:23 if I get out once a week off-road I’m doing well. My bike is good, I could afford a better one but can’t justify the cost. Lots of my my riding kit crosses over into other outdoor kit. I’m not a mountain biker, I ride mountain bikes. I find fixing my own bikes as interesting as riding them. I’ve been watching Seth since about 2017 and enjoy all his stuff.

We’re working to get the full length version of this one up. It’s a lot of extra work, but Lily has been generous with her time as we try to get more podcast content up here on the KZread channel.

I unfortunately don’t have the time to edit and post all the interviews to KZread, but Lily has been very generous with her time and is adding more here every day. We’d love to have the budget one day to hire someone to handle video for us. It’s an entire job in and of itself.
