    I want to clear something, around 02:25, i'm playing a pretty clean tone, just amp. It can sound dull and you might be thinking: "this is just a plain amp sound, what's this different from any transistor amp?" Well, the volume in the room is insanely low, like, literally, you can hear the strings more than the amp itself. If I add a little more volume, it would sound more like a tube amp working, but that would mean I need to lower the level on my pedals, which mean I get less dynamic result from them (especially big muff). It's ONLY AMP and my compression is almost always on to give those tubes some lift. So it's not dull, it just has so low volume :)) I want to repeat myself, because I can't stress this enough, THE AMP VOLUME IS SO LOW, MY CAMERA MIC DIDN'T EVEN CAPTURE THE AMP SOUND MORE THAN THE STRINGS... 🎸 Absolute Essential Top 10 Gilmour Solo Backing Tracks and Tabs: www.patreon.com/mustafacankaya/shop/10-essential-gilmour-solo-tabs-solo-14794?Link& 🔥 Access to the backing tracks, tones, tabs, request videos and support my work!: www.patreon.com/mustafacankaya 💵 Here are the 9 CHEAP AND BEST pedals I recommend for almost all the tones I get: thmn.to/thocf/xxm4h02xts ✅ Here are all my gear that I can't live without: thmn.to/thocf/at2lukfwk3 ➡ Check Out My Jams: kzread.info/head/PLZE1z4lCW33MVR-33x4zk9aecfnJiUIfj

    Hello, can i ask you one question. Because you use minimum amp level sound and maximum pedal dynamic sound, how you use it when you play with another musicians in the room. So my question is what do you do if you want super attacking clean sound and the biggest muff sound without big set changing on pedals or amp without sound system?

    Thanks for this! I already had the Blues Driver, Green Russian Muff and Flashback 2, so this was pretty easy to follow. I'd been struggling to get a nice creamy Muff tone without the annoying fizz in the top end, and it turns out I was making the classic rookie error of neglecting the EQ! I've added a GE-7 to my board and it's really singing now. One thing you didn't include here that I personally can't live without is the NS-2 noise suppressor, but that's a matter of preference!

    You gotta take in account that most British amps EQ where subtractive so everything at ten is what most active EQ are at 5 plus you need a univibe and flanger and sometimes a chorus pedal for some pink Floyd tones they used every tool they could get there hands on.i wish someone would make ems synthi hi fli pedal.theres a few formant filter pedals that do some of the sounds but not everything.they also used a Ludwig phase 4 or something like that it was another weird ass synth pedal that's a pain to find but those obscure pedals were only on live recordings I think for trippy jams

    Thanks so much for this video Mustafa !!! Have you got a video showing how you are connecting to the PC and through those headphones? What is that Frequency response waveform that you showed? I am looking forward to try out the settings with you, however, I do not have David's EMGs, but the SD SSL-5 at the bridge of my Fender MIJ Midnight Strat should be close. I will use the Tube Pilot instead of the Blues Driver and another compressor (Mooer Yellow Comp) as a booster instead of the Charlie Brown. I don't have the RT-20, however, I will place the Boss ME-80 at the end of the chain as it contains the RT-80 effect within it, I will use the Hiwatt T20/10 for an amp which should be close enough, if not, I will try the Boss Katana 100. What do you think? Can't wait to try it out 😎

  • @mustyguitar

    @mustyguitar

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey, I don't have a video about how I record, but i'll make one in the future. Frequency response? You mean the eq in logic pro? It's a free plug-in that shows the frequencies and you can eq on in. there are not that much difference between EMG and SSL-5 when EMG SPC or EXG is off. Mooer Yellow Comp is amazing, i used that for a long time. Love that eq. i don't have experience with Boss ME-80 so i can't say anything about that but Hiwatt amp is always reliable and great. You can't go wrong with it. It's too much for a bedroom level in my opinion, but you be the judge. Boss Katana 100 is too much too, you can use 50w version and it scales to 0.5w i think, i tried it in a guitar store, so i can't say it's good or bad but people say it's the best non-tube amp.

    something i've noticed with the amp is that gilmour never has it set as clean as people think when in the studio. listen to these songs: shine on you crazy diamond 4 notes part breathe brain damage run like hell these are songs are great examples of david gilmours "clean" amp sound with no overdrive. if you listen closley, theres a significant edge of breakup that is moore similar to have a cigar rather than the echoes riff on shine on, he has his amp set to a slight edge of breakup that warms up the phaser on breathe, it's to get this harsher brittle tone from the univibe on brain damage, theres this noticeable pick attack that you get from a noticeable amp compression from edge of breakup on run like hell it makes the main riff more driven the "david gilmour clean sound" that people think of is when he DOESN'T use his amp. another brick part 1 and the rythm part of part 2. the first and second solo of shine on. echoes main riff. all those are him putting his guitar straight into the mixing desk set the amp to edge of breakup and use your volume knob to clean it up for the very clean stuff.
