Hey there great tutorial, but at the setup you need to exhaust 1 ability card for each adventurer, therefore when you flip the first location "The white monolith" you must change the exhaust card of each adventurer :)

Upon setup doesn't each character start with 1 exhausted ability?

Crap crap CRAP. Thank you so much! I completely missed that rule. In my defense, it's a single small line in set-up and is never mentioned anywhere again, but dang it! I guess I really WAS playing on easy mode ;)

I tend to avoid other videos until after I’m done the play and review process. I want to give you my most honest personal opinion without bias or preconception. But here it messed me up a little bit :)

I passed on this KS, but it looks like it could be pretty entertaining with a lot of variety. Thanks for the playthrough!

Boy am I glad I watched your playthrough, I was playing this totally wrong. I misread the rules and thought I had to exhaust an ability whenever I used it. Was wondering whether the game was meant to be incredibly hard or if I was just really bad at it. Now I'm excited to give it a real go!

Yikes! That would definitely ramp things up to an absurd degree. I'm not sure combat would be nearly as fun if I was terrified to use my cool skills :)

I made the same mistake!

16:50 The giant’s health should have been added to the Bandit and not vise versa. “Giant’s Health is always added to the creature’s base health BEHIND IT. Great review by the way. Now it’s much clearer how to play!

Gorgi, you are ABSOLUTELY right based on how the card is worded. However, it has been clarified that the intended meaning is that the giant’s health itself is boosted. See this thread here, about halfway down: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2229746/article/33638034#33638034

Have just got this game in the mail, it looks even better in the flesh. The shiny cover of deluxe version doesn't photo well, couldn't even make out it was some awesome goblins until I saw it in person

I believe farsight increase ranged attacks with another +1 so then you can attack the 3d revealed monster (if your fire is good enough, seems powerful to me)

Is it normal to have an unhallowed monster in the deck in turn 2, before drawing any summon card?

Huh... you're right! I didn't think anything of it when that cat appeared, but why the heck was he in there? I've been playing the game a lot the last few days, so I must not have properly separated that card out after my last game. Good catch!

Great video. This game looks easy to play, very light. How could you increase the difficulty?

Thanks! First, as a commenter pointed out below, I messed up set-up and forgot to start with 1 exhausted ability per hero. That would have affected things quite a bit! Apart from that, there are two ways in the rules to increase difficulty. Both work well: 1 - Start with less firewood, forcing you to go blind in combat or spend lots of camp actions chopping instead of doing more useful things. 2 - Shuffle in more summon cards, which majorly increases difficulty by causing wounds on every shuffle and adding more unhallowed creatures in the mix. It all works really well!

So you killed the bandit to lower the giants health but I thought you could only attack the creatures in the first two positions. Or do abilities affect anything that’s been revealed?

Generally speaking, abilities hit any revealed creature unless otherwise indicated. Only direct attacks are limited by your character’s range

The beast master could use 2 creatures with the middle power, use a die then flip it over.

Good call! I'm loathe to flip abilities, so I often don't think of it.

So, with the rule for exhausting one ability at the start of the game, do you find normal difficulty more challenging? I tried this game for the first time last night after watching your walkthrough and it is BRUTAL - VERY challenging & rewarding puzzles to work through!

Things are fairly swingy, so it depends. Get the wrong monsters, or use less strong heroes, and even normal can be tough for sure!

@@OneStopCoopShop I agree. Just bought this a couple weeks ago. Love it but man am I finding it Brutal! Seems like on normal difficulty if circumstances don't swing in your favor in all directions at every decision, your going to fail. VERY little room for bad luck. Still loving the game though!

You might need to wait a bit. Kickstarter copies are still being delivered, so I don't think we know the whole distribution picture yet. They do have preorders for the regular and deluxe version on their website, but it's US-based so no idea how shipping will look.

I am about to purchase it from their site. It says $12 shipping to Europe. I think it's great offer since Amazon is $15 shipping just to UK (more money deeper in the continent) .

I'm half way through the video, but I'm drooling 🤤 This game is right up my alley (I have and love Heroes of Terrinoth and Unbroken). I will purchase "Set a Watch" first thing after. I just can't figure out the Ongoing effect (for example 23:28 but earlier too) the text is kinda confusing. I read Zombie's health is added to the health of the other creature in the graveyard, but that doesn't make sense because it doesn't matter how many health have a creature in the graveyard. You are adding the graveyard creature's health to the Zombie, which makes sense, but then again the text is kinda contradicting and not very clear. Can you help me here? Edit: Backstab (28:36) is revealing the enemies so the Vampire's Reveal action (steal) should apply I think (no idea, never seen the rules, just watching the video and reading the cards, so I might be wrong).

There are definitely some wonky rules in the game. For example, it’s been clarified that backstab takes precedence over revealed effects.

@@OneStopCoopShop it should not, since it says "reveal AND THAN defeat". But I am not sure either. Since I got my copy of the game and started playing now I have at least a dozen questions about the rules and I am in preparation to send them to Mike Gnade soon. I hope he will answer.
