MJK was not the goat - that was clearly les claypool - his performance here was a dedication to the front man from the residents - homer flynn - did i just reveal a fifty year secret? - homer always wears a mask and flails his arms just like les is doing - this performance is a direct homage to one of his heroes

Agreed. I normally sing this on karaoke nights just to keep my chops up as a drummer and a backup vocalist. Tonight I tried to do just that… required correction almost immediately as I realized I can’t do that. Also… “back the way it ought to be” is the toughest part for me to sing. I never sustain the “be” part as long as he is able to. Doesn’t matter for most there but it does to me. But I do try to put on a show too, so at least I am trying to get into this character.

The way Maynard instantly adjusts the cadence of his breathing at the start when Adam doesn't quite the nail the timing of intro riff

I could cry watching this. Thank you for uploading and sharing. My first concert was 97' Lollapalooza in Chicago with TOOL headlining and I got to see a half-painted, glow-in-the-dark blue Maynard totally blow my teenage mind. Fast forward to 2020 with Covid and hearing MJK bellow "Stay Alive" during Descending while thinking about what would happen to my little boys if anything happened to me was awe inspiring and wildly timely and relevant. To see and hear this band still sound like the studio release live and Maynard being out front and center instead of a shadowy silhouette in the background just brings it all back full circle to the days of Undertow and AEnema. Thank you again for the upload. This is a special moment to capture for any lifelong TOOL fan.

It was fucking EPIC! Still smiling! 🙌

I drove in from north of Reno. My whole drive home I was thinking about what I just saw.

Maynard up front, Justin and Adam on the wrong sides, Les Claypool on backing vox. Pure awesomeness nonetheless!

I was in front of Adam and such, still processing what the hell happened. It felt very surreal and got to score a pick and a ping pong ball!!! What an amazing show indeed!!!

Maynard's voice is perfect for his age. His raspy vocals sound juicy, love it. Wish I could see them some day if they ever come to my country. Greetings from Argentina!!

The stage setup was nice. Just a bunch of friends sitting around and jamming. It’s very personal experience.

I'm having a hard time coming back to reality from this... still have goosebumps! What an incredible night from start to finish. Flew down from Canada for this, we picked the right show! Wow all these bands just do it for me.

I cannot say how fucking awesome this was live. The MJK trifecta, Carina Rounds birthday, original APC, fucking Primus! Sessanta birthday year for me and MJk. Maynard the Cat😂😂 and then TOOL plays Aenema.. I can literally die ❤❤❤

I recorded the video with a Samsung S23+ cell phone which has excellent audio and video capabilities but it also doesnt hurt that the Hollywood Bowl has the best sound system of any venue around.

Helps that the speaker is visible directly in front of the camera. About as close to direct sound as you can get without plugging in

Damn I wish I was at this show! I was fortunate enough to see them at The Woodlands in Texas! I've never seen anything quite like this show! It was very unique and full of energy. Well suited for today's crowd. Ever changing and evolving. It was definitely a great experience! Now that's how you turn 60!!! Keep up!!!
