Absolutely LOVE your videos and insights - just want to posit that I think Sean's wound healing isn't done by Leanne, but by JULIAN, who even comments that placing his special sweater is an act of Love. Just a small clue about his nature shown at the end. xx

I’ve been watching your commentaries since Raised by wolves and have enjoyed your theories for both shows. I really enjoyed the finale of servant, except I think it should have been at least 1-2 hr episode. I think it explained enough and left enough for everyone’s individual interpretation. It seems a lot of the complaints people have about it, may not have watched the entire seasons or followed it closely, or took it in a whole other direction. Can’t wait to see what theories you have for Yellowjackets!

If you all understood the basic rules of christianism lore you wouldn't have all that confusion.. the answer is "god works in mysterious ways". And when accepting those ways, the answer to why all that "mess" is that it was THE ONLY WAY to make a mother who lost a child, with SUCH STRONG DENIAL (and you know how strong the denial was and difficult and tyring for everyone to approach the subject with Dorothy...) get to the point of aknowledge evrything. She needed ALL THAT series of "bizarreness" to chock her in a slow pace until she is actually ready to realise it without loosing her mind again. That was "god working in mysterious ways".. also all that "trying to get rid of leanne" was important for the process to put Dorothy in the opposite position of losing someone against her will.. making her "try to get rid" of someone can make she balance her feelings about loosing someone. BY THE WAY, TOBIT is a biblical angel that *through a series of events, goes blind and sends his son on a journey accompanied by the angel Raphael disguised as a human.* On his journey, the son Tobias (TOBBY IN THE SERIES) meets Sarah(Leanne in the series), who is afflicted by a demon. Raphael intervenes and dispatches the demon, allowing Tobias and Sarah to marry. the ending is Leanne setting a date with toby in the afterlife..

I had mixed feelings about the ending. Yes, it wrapped most or all of the storylines up, yet it changed the tone of most of the season, if not the entire series; especially that of the Church of Lesser Saints. With this twist ending we are now supposed to believe that the zombie-like/homicidal members were all along just guardian angels? What does that make the defectors? And how is Leanne not evil by that logic? I don't mind a complex and confused set of individuals, even ones living a second life, following their return from the dead; but unlike the twist at the end of "Sixth Sense," which worked to clarify all the sadness and yearning between the dead figures and the boy, here we have a revelation to Julian two seconds before the credits appear, and for which we unpack nothing of the complexities of the Church, its weird rituals, its runaways, its fundamentalism, etc. Yes, we like Officer Reyes and we want to believe Leanne isn't entirely evil, and okay, so we get that in the end. But in getting it, the consistency of the characters is almost entirely undermined, and what we're left with is a show where the arc is essentially allowed to change on a dime in order to keep the intrigue going for four seasons. Maybe that's the best they had. I personally felt the strongest point the show made was largely unconscious; that it represented the intrusion of folk-horror, or rural rituals, into our secular, urban spaces. Usually the urban figure retreats into the rural and finds himself/herself overwhelmed by the ancient and esoteric ("Wicker Man," "Midsommar," et al). In "Servant" it gets reversed. I thought at first that might've been a conscious choice and perhaps even a commentary on this new wave of spiritual fervor that has emerged in the last two decades on both the left (tarot, occultism, wicca) and the right. The references to "Twin Peaks" and "The Shining" throughout also made me think the filmmakers had a larger cosmology in mind. Alas, while I loved the show and felt the symbolism was better executed than most of M. Night Shaymalan's films, I also thought it fell back on storytelling tropes too often, and showed a number of times that it wasn't truly avant-garde. The last episode drove this awkwardness home most assiduously.

It is the stupid writers that are so inconsistent and when they know they mess up just invest stupid shit and twist. I was convinced until the last 2 episodes that everything had a natural explanation kind of like the village but in fact it was all Leanne supernatural powers. I am sure even the writers do not know if Leanne was Angel or Evil. Other than that, overall it was a good show bc all the actors did a good job and the casting was great. Leanne was shy and nerdy and dressed like a 19 century lady but once she shows her true colors and starts wearing yoga pants, she is hot naughty and attractive enough for any man to want to plow her. I am sure Toby regrets not making her his girlfriend when he had the chance.

My understanding is the term Angel doesn’t mean good or evil in itself. It just means she was dead/brought back and had powers. Yes, the church members were like zombies as there was a force that wanted LeeAnn dead and they all thought as one unit. It was to save the world from this dark force that surrounded her. But she didn’t have to be evil herself as it sounded like she was a possessed victim too.

A poem called: Meg's Rant Well...Hell! This did not gel! Leanne was an angel sent from the skies That is 'til her body count started to rise She killed here and there to prove her love Was she sent from below or from heaven above? Dorothy hired Leanne to watch her son Jericho He was a doll not a baby, not true flesh but faux She brought him back to life for he was so dear If Dorothy hadn't killed him, he would still be here We did not see the man with the hook Was Roscoe sincere or was he mistook? Julian was a coward and so was Sean Why couldn't they tell Dorothy what she'd done wrong? But they held their tongues and made things worse And soon their whole street fell under a curse The cult tried to kill her, but failed and failed Yet Leanne succeeded to impale and impale She had a cult of her own called the Leannisters And made sure her dear Dorothy fell off the banister Then Dorothy's feelings turned on a dime Leanne tried to kill me, but now I feel fine All the people she'd killed and the wrath she had wrought And Dorothy told her it wasn't her fault?! Forgive and forget, that's the moral of the story We've been teased all this time for a simple allegory? Poor Tobe thought Leanne had accepted his date But instead, she decided to accept her own fate With gallons of gas and one single match The steps of the ritual she soon dispatched Leanne wasn't evil, just misunderstood So she killed herself to prove she was good The Turners were able to leave all they had built I thought they were selfish and deserved all their guilt Turns out Julian's overdose was fatal that day Now the CLS says he must join and obey And so ends the story, I've enjoyed our time And hope that you also have enjoyed this rhyme You might've hated the show, you might've backed it I'm following Lauren Ambrose to watch Yellowjackets

I read an interview of MNS with people just recently and it made sense why nothing made sense. I have enjoyed your analysis and coverage of this show and have loved this show, but the ending for me and the interview was disappointing. I really thought he was doing well but handed it off mostly to his daughter to write and direct and well, it became what it did. The actors carried this project with their wonderful talents, especially Lauren Ambrose. Any theories, etc seemed all for naught because they weren’t thinking that hard when they made it. It’s sad.

Oh yeah! my take on the SERVANT finale & my thoughts on the series overall... I'm satisfied... was it the crazy ending I predicted? NO! When it comes to my predictions as a rule in general, that often seems to be the case😅. Although I did get the house crumbling into rubble right... but no creepy mannequin or doll baby coming to life walking away w/Aunt May... oh well! [ I cling to the idea that we just didn't get to see it!!!🙃😅] What we did get to see was a story about grief... how we cope, how we accept & how we forgive... not only those around us, but ourselves. Dorothy had a horrible jagged pill to swallow in coming to terms with Jericho's death. Then in looking back to see what Leanne gave her, a few more precious moments w/the child she lost, as a gift was momentous!! Finally accepting her baby's death, forgiving those around her & herself was beautiful... We got to see a calm, kind, loving Dorothy who finally will have peace... I liked it! As for Leanne... she went out like a boss, on her own terms, & knowing Dorothy loved her & forgave her & even thanked her! For a fallen angel, one who has fallen from Grace, I think it's the best we could have hoped for... & the fact that they found no body is perfect!!! I also love the twist about Julian and Dorothy being unknowing members in The Children of the Lesser Saints is EPIC! I look forward to watching the entire series w/this yummy tidbit in mind!!! Sure there are a lot of unanswered questions... but is there ever a story where we don't have what-about?! & what-if?! questions? Overall I give the series an 8/10... It may even score higher after my re-watch, I'll let ya know!😜 Thanks again for a great ride on the SERVANT train @FeyFire!!! I couldn't bring myself to see Leanne as the villain. That family was awful. I really hope there is a season 5 to fix this disappointing ending. I think she is a Fallen Angel and because she did in the end give her life for her friends, she will come back as pure good but everyone will be terrified and screw everything up again. Otherwise where the heck is the baby. She had real power and the baby is the key to that mystery.

Sean made the bargain with Leanne when Dorothy had Vera come & try to help her convince Leanne to leave to that dance academy…. She had already booked her train ticket and paid for everything & that’s when all hell broke loose! When she was outside waiting for her ride from Toby that’s when Jericho turned backed into a doll. It’s only after she comes back in & assured she doesn’t have to leave that the the doll turns back into Jericho. Sean then steps in & makes the decision that he doesn’t want to lose his son again even if this means that Leanne will stay forever & it is then he makes the bargain with her that it would be their pleasure to have her stay as long as she likes. He invited her to stay.

Dorothy was just an awful person and atrocious wife. All the jabs that dads are lesser parents or not parents at all. Sean was the most pussy whipped beta character ever written 😂. Don't condone domestic violence but sean needed to give that bitch a slap 🤣. He just lets her withhold his son from him for days/weeks. Just forgives her for trying to run away with his child. Even forgave her for killing his son. He was willing to kill leanne the woman who brought his son back just because Dorothy was jealous of her.

That season just felt off. Sean went from a normal person to irrationaldick. Not caring if leanne is tortured to death. Even helping dorothy set her up to be murdered. Dorothy was just a horrible person, mother and an even worse wife from the start of the series. Was I supposed to like her because she just came across as a horrible abuser. I wouldn't have been shocked if she purposely murdered the baby as it was an inconvenience to her and her wishes.

If you understood the basic rules of christianism lore you wouldn't have all that confusion.. the answer is "god works in mysterious ways".

I think it is assumed he is dead again. Gone and she’s not bringing him back this time because she’s dead now too

You only need to watch two seasons of the show because it’s totally stupid. Season one and season four that’s it

I have a huge crush on Leanne lol😂….she’s a sweet yet dangerous … good combination to create the ultimate crush formula :) 😂. I think Dorothy will bring her back to life and sacrifice herself.
