I thought Maru had pulled off the slickest move in that game when he repaired the Medivac that had been parasitic bombed, and then Serral says "Hold my beer", and EMP's all Maru's ghosts with that neural parasite. Well played, sir, well played.

Love the passion you have for the game, the joy that came through when you were analysing the plays in this match-up was infectious! Great stuff.

interesting how the game3 analysis by PiG was so different than Lowko's video even though they are both looking at the exact same game. Pig favored Maru alot more but to Lowko it was clear Serral was in control the whole game and just overwhelming maru

haha. remember WOL and HOTS days when maps were tiny and zergs were losing. Now maps are enormous and every game ends up at 200/200 and zergs are crushing. Makes me want to come back and play again.

In theory it's amazing, but due to the raven becoming the priority unit in the group, it makes it harder to control all other units, such as the marines - since they'll have to press tab every time to stim. Which is why most of the terrans prefer using the scans

@@jefferyharper5720 You're entirely correct, but trying to micro yet another control group in the midst of a mid-game, when you ideally have 2-3 groups of army just makes it so that you lose the raven - which means you're back to the CCs.

@@ChristianSandviknes except I'm taking early game, when scans have to be used to clear creep, not mid game. Stopping creep early is when it's more important. And that's also when income is important. 16 scvs on minerals early. 1 mule is almost 33% more income, minus the Raven cost. The real drawback is facing a roach all in like game 1, but you just cancel the Raven, because you won't be going after creep anyway, and other units are better for that.

zerg is overpowered

I kinda expected the result with the most recent NERFs specially to the widow mine. I used to punish Aggro Ling Bane players with rushed Armory mines. But because those things are now slower to burrow and they don't have the range of Lurkers (who also became slower to burrow but because of their range, it compensates for that burrow nerf), the strategies that makes Ling-Bane and Mutaling risky is not really as viable as it used to be. There was a time when I aggro Zerg with mines, now I can only do it when I feel that the Zerg player is bad. Even players that I used to own with aggro mine strategies, now I am forced to turtle all the time. Seriously that Terran Nerf forced almost every high level Terran players to be defensive, that's why super aggro Terran players like Clem who were beating almost every Zerg players a couple of months ago have been defensive (which he is not that good at). Having the fastest eco, expansion, and recruitment in the game, and then the tools utilized by Terran players to punish hyper aggressiveness getting nerfed every time Blizzard decides to patch the game. Having all those advantages, that's not RTS. No wonder Zerg players have been super successful in recent tournaments lately. Heck, even Protoss can now use Gateways to out early aggro the Terrans, it used to be just Phoenixes. The Terran turtle being the only viable strategy against high level Zerg and Protoss players forced me to play more Zerg recently. This is coming from a Protoss main btw.

Same feeling here. I had been a long time sc2 fan, since the beginning of wol and i really dislike the state of the game now. It’s not fun to watch anymore. I stopped watching it 2 years ago and just came back to see is it any different now after that much time. Tbh, it’s just getting worse.

Is Serral really that good or are the zergs clearly unbalanced?

I like the fact that in videos involving winning terrans who does camping with ghosts oneshotting every Zerg unit ( even ultralisks ) noone complains. But when the strongest sc2 player in the world beats Maru it's because zergs are to be nerfed lol.

bro people complain about ghosts *all the time* like....*constantly*. Even Terrans complain about how much they have to rely on Ghosts in TvZ. I think Pig even mentions it in this series for a second lol. The reason you don't hear about it as much as people wanting Zerg nerfs is because they've literally won almost everything this year. 5 out of 9 Premier event in 2022 have been won by one of Dark, Reynor, Rogue or Serral. HerO managed 1 GSL win, Maru and Clem won a tourney each early on in the year as well as Zest. Many of the more recent Tournaments have been won by Zerg players as well. Over half of all Major events in 2022 have *also* been won by Zergs. I'm not even saying there is any imbalance, it's just very lopsided in terms of which players are at their best right now, and they almost all happen to play Zerg. Anytime that happens people are gonna balance whine just because a single race appears to be dominating regardless of what the actual reason is.

ZERG is way OP. Roughly 50% tournament (Premier, Global) top prizes have all gone to zergs during past 2-3 years according to SC2 Liquipedia.

Damn, after watching all those games from PiG where he gets rushed, and comes back from a huge disadvantage, I can't help but blame Serral for leaving FAR TOO EARLY in the 3rd game. Over double the workers and won't even bother to give up a base to mass ling bane behind is so lazy! Epic series nonetheless

This series shows kinda why I'll never really be a Serral fan. As good as he is, the dude has no heart to fight on against all odds. He consistently snap-quits games where he still has a decent fighting chance, reminiscent of a whiny brat who doesn't get his way throwing a tantrum. All the skill in the world doesn't give someone the heart of a champion. Someone like Oliveira for example - despite being a much less skilled player - showed massive heart in Katowice 2023. And that was enough to take it all the way and win the world champ title against not one but many otherwise-better players. Serral could learn a thing or two from him.

Great casting. Terran had solid defensive positions and Maru controlled the army to the best a Terran can, but endless waves of a-moving ling/bane still overwhelm - I don't believe that's how an RTS game should work

Tell that to Grant during the civil war. All he did was a-move soldiers into entrenched southern positions and the north won the civil war.

I’ve played Terran for about 2500 ladder games and still don’t know how to play the Damn game. And yes I’ve watched all of pics bronze to GM videos. Zerg is totally imbalanced. I don’t fgi

Yeah Serral seems to have Maru's number. He's been really clever with adjustmens in his play vs each opponent lately as well. Feels like he plays a very different game to counter Clem or Cure. Fantastic adaptability

Zerg is OP. Maru and Serral are the Best on her race but, Maru loose because the avantage of the number of Zerg is more efficient. Look game 3 and 4. Maru had a very good défense but Maru loose everything so quickly and Serral reborn in a instant. Its a Joke. For à Terran, its impossible to win a game. Terran had more désavantage. Maru and Serral are to god player but Terran Suck. Prouf in this games.

Serral is Federer of SC2! So glad he didn't make the same mistake as his brother to get a degree just to get paid on a salary. Serral on the other hand can retire early and go study/relax as he please

zvt meta sucks. I hope they change the maps, so it becomes more enjoyable to play.

The game is unbalanced. There is no way the Terans are 100% on equal footing with the Zerg. Sadly, only like for like factions are fair.....but not as entertaining.

Blizzard nerfed Terran early aggression too much. Protoss has better early aggression, and Zerg has the better long game. Either way, I'm kinda not caring too much about high level SC2, such a stale game and meta at this point. I like lower level games, though.
