Dumb question: in broodwar u would first emp a nexus with a science vessel then nuke it for oneshotting. Why is that not done in sc2, where both spells are on the same unit?

@@lildiscostu A Nexus has 1000HP and 1000Shield. 1 EMP deals 100 damage to shields and costs 75 Energy, 1 Nuke does 500 damage against buildings. So you would need 10 EMPs and 2 Nukes. 1 Ghost can have a 200 energy so 2 EMPs per Ghost which means that you need 5 Ghosts and 2 Nukes which is pretty expansive(resources and energy).

In Broodwar, EMP takes all shields down to 0. In SC2, EMP only removes 100 shields. Also a nuke in SC2 isn't enough to take down a nexus even without its shields

I would love to see a battlecruiser challenge. I find so hard to use it effectively beyond TvT or early game TvZ.

@@guangdali6460 marauders are really gas light, so they can defend early while he mass expands and gets the gas he needs. If he can pull it off with ghosts, I'm sure he could pull it off with BC

woudnt it get boring though? I mean it takes so long to get a single bc out and from there its pretty much attack teleport back home when almost dead and repeat which is not anything new

I like they literally only build the worst unit arguably against ghosts like hydras and then say "what can I do"

MadFrog is an odlschool WC3 ex UD pro, back from the early 2000's. He switched to SC2 for a time, along with OGs like ToD, Happy, Grubby, etc. If that really was him (unlikely), then you've just set a new efficiency record and wiped the floor with an absolute legend, at the same time 👏👏👏

Is anyone else shocked that you can get a ghost academy with just a barracks?! That tech tree is nuts dude

The ultimate protos challenge is pure sentry. There's nothing like force-fielding in an army and tickling it down....

fwiw, what I like most out of your challenge content is watching how your strategy evolves; how you refine timing and orders, and how you learn how many you need of each unit to accomplish any given in-game objective. You say that your commentary would not be as strong playing your weakest role of Zerg, but watching seeing your skills evolve with a new race through the filter of a challenge would be really entertaining. Regardless, perhaps try a strategy that is not so focused around a strict unit composition, but instead try a challenge around a proxy cheese of some kind? One more flexible in its build order but restrictive in your early game objectives. keep up the great content, cheers

I would like to see something involving mines. Ghost + mines + nukes for example. That would be the most salty challenge ever. So the point is for challenge to be entertaining, it doesn't have to be difficult. But anyway, keep up the good work!

the reason ghost to grandmaster has been such a success is because of how unique ghosts are. they can hit ground, they can hit air, and they have alot of abilities for utility. the only other comparable units that come to mind are a few starcraft 1 units and, well, ravens which you already have a series for so even if you branch out to other races you need to recognize that they are unlikely to be as successful to avoid getting disheartened. that said interesting ideas i have for series is any skytoss spam, mutilisk spam, dark templar rush, or 'gold rush' where you play otherwise normally but you always expand into a gold mineral base first if the map has one

It is a legit strat against zerg. They Are too strong, too fast and too cheap. Banes are Not a Counter to them - you need 7 to kill one.

@@Tomoyo0827 outside of late game tvz and the occasional single ghost utility option in tvp ghost go pretty much unused in conventional StarCraft 2 games, so I'm not sure a nerf is needed

I always find funny how the operative wearing a skin-tight suit but using a massive rifle takes twice the space in a medivac than the soldier piloting the combat exoskeleton xD

Ghost penguin vs Protoss would be a nice adaptation

The second game was a master piece. The PF, the turrets, the splits, the Medivac micro!

@@kindlin son I stopped playing this shit game years ago. And my comment means exactly what it said, Terran is EZ mode. they're suppose to be the "micro race" but every Terran I saw just went macro (did it very poorly too) and spammed the T key with MMM or spammed mech and BC and got free wins. incredibly safe race to play since it almost impossible to punish them. plus they are suppose to be the aggressors in the match ups so if they fail its ok but if they do too much damage they win, ball is always in their court. I know this because as soon as I played terran i won so many games with half the effort, I could play like dogshit but terrans bullshit units, defense and eco would carry me through superior opponents.

If you are doing a Protoss challenge you should do... GATEWAY UNITS TO GM... so you can mix and match like glaived adepts, mass blink stalkers and maybe also allow yourself access to high templars and archons as to do GATEWAY ONLY UNITS you will have to build a templars archive ... Obviously, this has a lot of permutations from the macro style, 2-3 base all ins or those kinds of maxpax builds and other proxys... You could handicap yourself by limiting stargate...perhaps only use small supply to get 1-2 oracles, or a phoenix or something just for vision and scouting... allowing yourself some support units from robos like sentries, warp prison and observers can give you more build variety and also allow you some kind of a mid-late game army. I also think the warp prison will give you maybe some ideas to play protoss in that terran bio drop force kind of way. Whatever you do please don't do carriers only to GM or canon rush to GM... I'll cry myself to sleep.

Hi! New Member here, I think it would be fun to see a Drop to GM challenge, cannot attack directly, only drops and defense.

I still absolutely adore Ghosts to Grandmaster, and you're right that TvZ is when the challenge really shines. These were some top-class thrilling games, the few covert elites bringing in heavy firepower and surgical strikes to stop the unending tide of the swarm and all that. Perhaps at some point if you wanted to rotate or change things up, the way to do it would be to have a different challenge versus each race? Ghosts for Zerg, and... I don't know what the others would be, I just watch good players on KZread. Something to consider though.

I have no idea what is going on but these videos are so fun to watch!

I don't mind episodes where you lose, for me it's all about the small victories where you're stoked on a really good trade even if you lose the overall match.

ghost is the most imba unit right now.

If you're going to do protoss, you have to do a dark templar challenge. Whether it be rushing DTs into Archon drop is unknown but you have to do DTs.

I think it has to be something with outplay possibility. Abilitys are fun aswell. It has to be a combination that can hit ground and air. and is has to be available early on. And it should a kinda stupid unit combination: Adept+HT or Phoenix+oracle

Would like to see splash disruptor phoenix to GM. Lots of micro and some Big Bang moments as well. Would be fun. Templar to GM would be fun as well, dts, HT, archons maybe some tempest if you need them.

ghost first in tvz seems like a legit build- as long as you make other units with them over time

I wouldn't want a Protoss challenge to replace a Terran challenge, I really enjoy the the daily Terran challenges. I think anything in addition to that would be great, Protoss or otherwise. I'm sure I'd watch (and enjoy) it from time to time. Trying new things is great, maybe that's the future of the channel you never know, but I'm certain I'll be watching the daily Terran challenges for a long while.

What about a once a week challenge for your off races? I would love to see you do some weird zerg comps.

Phoenix seem to have a good potential for a series. Pairing it with zlots might be too strong since that's already mostly a real build lol. But being forced to stay on them could make interesting games. Other idea is phoenix immortals or phoenix oracle but those are gas intensive.

Hey! I am Zerg player and really like your content. I noticed players seem to get upset in general playing against Ghosts, and that this is not specific to you. What do you think Zerg should do against Ghost based late game? Is there an efficient answer? Would love to hear an expert Terran like yourself comment on that.

I feel like drops with emp on the probe line would be really effective. Wouldn't they one-shot a probe after the emp? If not going for a quick plus one on weapons would ensure it. In that style you could maybe really starve out the protoss. Keep him active defending the drops while you drop a nuke on the front wall or something in that vein.

Yeah that is something I have been thinking about for Protoss as well. Have to be careful because that is an expensive drop but could clear a mineral line really fast that way.

I’d watch pretty much anything you upload. Not a big fan of Zerg but definitely any protos or Terran play is much more fun to watch

If possible, air terran sounds fun challenge but I have one question if you have time uThermal, do you ever get planetary fortress upgrade in this challenges?

As an ex masters level zerg this caused me emotional damage... seeing all of those banelings die and the PFs all still staying up

IMO disruptor hits are the protoss equivalent of ghost snipe sounds. I would love to see u playing mass disruptors. they are super micro heavy as well if you like the challenge.

In ghost to gm u should try building missiles turrets in front of your pfs. They tank bane hits and kill overseers if he doesn't have enough or h have 3 or 4 at each pf
