Jesus in Matthew 13:32 seemed to quote from Daniel 4 in the LXX where it says "the birds of the sky lodged in the branches of it". But the language may also reflect Ezekiel 17:23. I probably disagree with Doug's interpretation that the birds refer to hypocrite Christians. It may refer to Gentile Christians being grafted into the covenant people of God

Yes, we are the branches, the Lord Jesus is the vine and the Father the vinedresser. By believing in Jesus and hearing Him ,having understanding and knowledge of the truth let us walk in the truth, exercising faith in God by not be hear'ers only of the word but doer's. Having the Word of our testimony If one excepts Jesus in their heart and confess with their mouths that He is the Son of God our Lord and savior, repent and turn away from sin, for Jesus Christ was sacrifice for our true sanctification and to be baptized in the name of the Lord then we are born again and can see the kingdom of God John chapter 3. Jesus said what shall I likened the kingdom of God and how shall I compare it to, then went in to tell us what it will look like when he comes, We should be shewing fourth of praise's Him that has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. The Holy Spirit is our helper and comforter, The Spirit of Truth which bring us into the all the truth of God and their is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, Jesus said I have not said anything in secret, if we follow Jesus by His word then applying the faith in God trusting in Christ without doubt or unbelief, We shall have what we asked for and it will done for you. Remember when Jesus spit in the blind man's eyes and put His fingers on them then took them off and asked the man what do you see and the man said I see men walking as trees, that was which was to come and now has come by Faith in His word Here in Conover, N.C. all the birds come and lodge in the branches of being a vessel for the Lord to dwell in then walking in the Holy Spirit and not fulfilling the lust of the flesh no more, the hands that use to hang downward ,I've turned over and Spanning my hands out as a swimmer and as a fan lifting them up thanking our God and Father for Jesus and exalting Jesus name, by saying hallelujah Jesus everywhere I go, My feet is not going to the right or left no more and have made my feeble knees strong by Faith, I go out in the Lord's righteous, joy of receiving Jesus having the Father also if the full joy and lead fourth in Peace knowing Jesus shed His blood for our Peace and if the Holy Spirit that guilds me as the Lord leads me each day, all the trees claps their hands and sings out ISA 55:10-13 ; 1 Chr 16;33; Ps 98:8; ISA 35;10. Bias comment, we have to consider that all parable in that chapter has + and - infiltration in the kingdom. Church is not perfect. Parable of the sower is the 🔑 to all parables. Mark 4.

Sorry ... the message was to negative ... the parable was more encouraging than the description ... I do not believe that we should allow birds/demons in our tree-house/assembly ... Jesus said "Come out or her" i.e. come our of false assemblies ... the true followers will not allow themselves be connected to demons ... true believers should remain pure by themselves ... rather than be with corrupted believers. The Bible asks ... What do false believers have to do with true believers? ... The answer of course is: "Nothing!" We need to go outside the gates to be with Jesus! ... The church is corrupt today ... it represents the nest of demons ... we have nothing in common with demons. We must remain pure individually since we cannot remain pure in corrupt assemblies!

I think I disagree with Doug's interpretation that the birds refer to imposter Christians (in light of Ezekiel 17:23). It may refer to Gentile Christians being grafted into the covenant people of God. Nesting/lodging seems to be more of a positive thing than an "invasion" of sorts (i.e. by pretenders)

Jesus says in Matthew 13:31-32 that the mustard seed is the "smallest of all seeds". It isn't the smallest by a long shot, even in the area jesus was in. Jesus was wrong.

Chris Walters Yes, really. The bible also says insects have 4 legs and that the earth is "fixed and unmovable". The bible is not a reliable source for truth.

Chris Walters That is a nice CLAIM, but it isn't true. Insects do not have 4 legs, the mustard seed is not the smallest of all seeds, the earth is not fixed and unmovable, rabbits do not chew their cud as the bible says. Instead of relying on some "special knowledge" that rational educated humans apparently do not have (according to you) why did god not just write what IS true in his book? Why put stuff in there that is obviously false when compared to reality and facts? Is your imaginary god an idiot? Do you even have any evidence that your god is real and not mythology like thousands of other gods humans have invented? I challenge you to provide one piece of actual evidence for the existence of your god.

Nicholas Flamel You, my friend. You are the evidence my friend. You who are uniquely and wonderfully made, who were known before the worlds were created and who, despite your unbelief, are loved by God who sent His son to die for you...whether you wanted it or not. You want to read a book about facts, try an encyclopedia. The Bible is a book about faith.
