Yeah people praise the crap out of the interrogator and I’m not saying that isn’t warranted, but the investigation was so solid up until that point, that he really had no option to keep denying it. The tire tracks alone would’ve been enough to get a warrant for his footwear (assuming he’d not worn the murder boots to the police station). They most likely had the search warrants already for his home and office and vehicle, before he even walked in the door. It’s easy for cops to get search warrants in Canada. And Smyth was the lead detective on the case, so he still gets props for the investigation. No matter how the interrogation went, good ole Russ wasn’t going home that night or any night for the rest of his life.

Ellen Richardson yes they are... demons are the ego! And they get summoned through the indoctrination into language/alphabets... also when a man and a woman connect to make a child, they are both supposed to have the intention to imagine and dream what they want for that child, and who they want that child to become, and when the mother is pregnant she infuses her own feelings, thoughts, emotions, intentions, into that child... so when a human is born and they turn out to be mentally or physically ill or a danger and threaten to others and themselves, that is partially because they were not intentionally created out of the good heart.

He's a transvestic fetishist & I think also an autogynephile. Transvestic fetishism is a fetish/paraphilia exclusively found in straight (heterosexual) males where they get sexual pleasure by wearing women's clothing. Autogynephilia is another fetish exclusively found in straight males, where they get turned on by the idea of themselves having a woman's body (and doing things they think women do). They imagine having breasts and a vagina, and that is their ultimate fantasy, to become a 'woman.' It's an extreme form of male heterosexuality. (For the record, autogynephiles are not genuine transgender people. They do not have gender dysphoria since childhood). Autogynephiles often start off acting on their autogynephilic fantasy by engaging in transvestic fetishism. They often start doing this late in life so I am not surprised that this murderer too began crossdressing late in life (though autogynephiles may start acting on their fanstasy sooner too, but definitely after puberty). Each and every autogynephile isn't necessarily dangerous. They often have other paraphilias like masochism, finding humiliation erotic & getting dominated by a woman (a "mistress").

I am simply perplexed as I watch shows detailing this man's actions. I am in shock. What....did it? What drove him? I watch these shows trying to dissect the issues in this man's character to lead him to carry on two separate lifestyles. Lord have mercy on all he affected, and on him. Craziness. I am baffled.

I think a lot has to do with childhood experiences. Iam not making excuses but saying what I believe. I'm an older adult that went thru years of abuse as a child and have never had a normal relationship. Experiences we have when young does help to form who we become.

Something in his childhood triggered a sexual titillation when it came to hiding and sneaking and taking what didn't belong to him. He was rejected by one girlfriend in college and perhaps that led to his need to take things from these other women, and eventually rape and kill them. He was driven to it by lust and a deep emptiness in his heart. It's so important not to let your head and heart become taken over by sick and evenly thoughts. Demons, if you will, can possess you.

What's your point? Do you have any idea if he was EVER involved in a violent military action, he was an air transport pilot? This is the first sexual killer, I have ever read about who was in the military while all those who were mentioned had never been involved in any kind of military service. If you hate the idea of a defense just say it, don't try to imply that the Air Force makes people into perverted killers.

It's remarkable how many serial killers and even child sexual predators cross dress and seem to want to be women. It's not just a question of hating women irrationally. It's hating them because they can't _be_ women.

Brighton Whittaker wow u sound like u hate my gender! Men are still drawn to a woman past 35! I'm sure the older u get your body will be like the rest of ours it will go down hill! Guys can get the middle age spread their testicles can get wrinkled or saggy! & they can go bald they can loose that attraction just like we females the older we get! But women still love them not because of that sign of old age! But because of who they are on the inside!! & its not called twat in the medical terms u need to look it up 1st b4 u become judgemental to my kind that men desires that's how u got here in the 1st place!! I just hope u don't think of your mother this way!!!! I hope u show her much more respect by your comment towards my gender highly unlikely!!!!!! This guy took 2 innocent lives that were females these females & their family's deserves respect after what they went through! Not someone disgracing their genders just because u have an issue with our kind!! You watching this knowing what this guy did to females then u turn around & put my gender down. My question is why are you watching this if you aren't planning on being sympathetic towards what he did to these females & their families? What u stated in your comment isn't something these families would be too pleased to see!!!!

I wud of thought serial killers come in all shape n sizes n cross dressing is as significant or not as same toothpaste . Sexuality/ individuality/ commonality and n the range between. I wonder if ther r women who hav fantasies/kink who want to role play as crossdressing men/ sadists/dommes if so - hi ;-)

aerialkate This is so true so well put! I couldn't agree more! I have heard some also had bad experiences with a motherly figure like cruelty dominating behavior. & some they can't figure out why they turn out the way they do having a decent family living a well life. I know emotionally they are lost in what they want in life & exactly like u were saying to where they want to escape who they are & try to become someone else! In like this case Russell dressing up like a female like that being what he wanted to become!!

Of course his upbringing wil hav played a key n the fact spesh men can't open up to authorities long before this start spinning coz they feel compromised vunerable n even in military context owned n destroyed by military psychologists if they express ther inners. I wonder if ther r women crossdressers bdsm devotees who want to russ role play, wot u think SpaceKate ?;-)
