Everyone is always bashing Linda (she wasn't that bad) or praising Terri (she was so memorable!), but Tracey was the only one who really sounded close to a fourteen year old.

Miss Tracey Moore is listed in the End Credits as a A.D.R. Voice Director, and with Mr. Roland Parliament who frequently played Melvin, thus literally, both "Serena", and "Melvin" were in charge of producing this amazing and Beloved Adaptation of S.M. for BOTH D.I.C., AND OPTIMUM PRODUCTIONS IN TORONTO in 1995!! Tracey is the voice of SAILOR Moon and Serena for the first 11 episodes when the 3 girls first met, and a few more afterwards. And then Terri Hawkes was asked to step in at literally the last second, for Tracey. But there was a struggle to watch S. M., because here it was on at 5:30 a.m. Central Time. But also Sunday Morning at 8:00 a.m. Central Time zone. But it was stopped and replaced by other kiddie cartoons. Then many months later it was on the former U. S.A. NETWORK BUT, only for 4 Weekdays M to Th., that messed up the timing schedule, and the only 65 Episodes was stretched into a 16 Week Run.

I love Usagi's voice in the new dub.....but "Serena's " first voice is pretty much just as perfect, she sounds childish and silly but still sounds like a reasonable example of a teenage girl...much like Stephanie Sheh does in the new dub

I really loved serena's voice from the first season of the 90's dub version of sailor moon.😃 Tracey did a amazing job as serena in the dic dub version of sailor moon,since she sounded more like a fourteen year old girl in the first few episodes of the first season. And serena was right,what was darien doing riding on the train for little kids anyway?

IKR she STILL sounds just like her amazingly enough! They shouldve kept her til Sailor Moon S, then got Traci Hawks for the rest of the series, they sound very similar and are equally funny!

I like it when rei and serina have laser come out of their eyes.

I'm not a fan of the dub in general, but I really loved Serena's first voice actress! I also found the acting in the really early DiC episodes to be so much better in comparison to the rest of the dub. Anywho, this scene is pretty funny. :D

It originally had 46 episodes in Tokyo, then was only shown on weekends. But, DIC designed it for 5 days a week, M-F, and the first story ran for 8 weeks, thus 2 months. Then the other stories of the DOOM 🌳 TREE, AND PRINCESS RINI 👸 FROM CRYSTAL TOKYO, started later, for a total of 65 episodes, in the U.S. Syndication cycle. Thus, the first set of 40 episodes with Queen Beryl, were often seen at strange times, like 5:30 A.M.!!! This is Episode 7, (u.s.), "NIGHTMARE IN DREAMLAND". When Serena, Amy, and Raye, find out that Jedite, is kidnapping customers from the Amusement Park. And his assistant is The Dream Princess who is really the Evil Robot 👸 Princess. Amy and Luna the cat run off to 🔎investigate together. But leaving Serena and Raye together and they argue all the time. But, instead of walking around the park, Serena has her good idea of riding the little train. Then she and Raye argue, as usual. And Serena actually bumps into the back of Darien, when the Panda 🐼 engine driver stops the train too Suddenly!!!!! But, Darien insults Serena, and calls her, "meatball head", and Raye laughs at her too!! POOR SERENA!! O.K. on Sept. 30, 2021, A.D. GOD BLESS US ALL, AMEN+++!!!

I'm usually not a fan of the DiC dub, but this scene is an exception, all of the voice actors did really well

This was one of my favorites

The real Nightmare in Dreamland.

The little train has great sound effects, because the wheels are screeching along the steel tracks. And the couplers clang together when Panda hits the brakes, then clang again when he starts with no warning like Panda should have blown the whistle 2x to indicate forward movement, p.s. that is a real railroad safety rule in America,!! LOL!!!!!

man it was soo funny when they fight they quit that later in the series

Its kind of sad that they didnt try to find a similar sounding VA for Usagi(Serena) after this one left she was so memorable and cute for usagi- really a perfect voice the other VA isnt bad but just... not good for Usagi (I also kind of wish they didnt change the music but yeah..)

Notice how Rei will actually use that meatball head nickname with her whenever Darien (or Mamoru), isn't present. But not really as an insult, but actually as a term of affection in their not so subtle romantic friendship/girls' love moments. At least in the sub, that is. But whether they continue this or not is certainly up to interpretation. I actually heard even the later seasons had the lesbian subtext not completely cut out despite the fact that they were more explicit. But yeah, it was. :)

Darien is riding the little train because he is a railroad fan, and the little steam engine is a 4-4-4T that operates on 7&1/4" guage track, because there are many, many live steam miniature railroad clubs all around the World. It would be easy to make a live action scene of this by using cosplay actresses and the little train and a panda costume for the train engineer. Now in 2021, we can do it by 2022 for the 30th Anniversary of the premiere in 1992. Ok. Text me. See you!!!!!

Usagi's English name. Usagi is named after the Moon Rabbit. Serena is named after Selene, the Greek Moon Goddess, and sounds similar to (Princess) Serenity.

No, I think this is Tracey Moore. She voiced the first half of season 1, Terri Hawks voices the second half of season 1 and all of season 2. And then they get someone who sounded completely different for season 3.

Serena and Raye are such brats! They're like little sisters who won't get along! Darien on the other he was a little mean as well! Even at first that Serena and Darien don't know each other just yet until they learned about their identities and what happened a very very long time ago in the Moon kingdom! Come to think of it it's kind of like Sakura and Li Shoran except Sailor Moon was released before cardcaptor Sakura! In fact doesn't Raye ever remind you of Meilin!? They both have dark hair and nasty attitude! But to be honest she sort of like a combination of Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars that Meilin! But sometimes she could be very helpful even if she doesn't have magic! What what was really magical about her is her heart to fight the clow cards from causing chaos!❤

@@EdmacZ I am. I'm up to episode 120 on Hulu (viz dub). And btw the OG dubbed version was lame. It was censored, choppily edited, and the voices did not match the spirt of the Japanese voices the way the Viz voice actors do. Viz is just better all around. You'll figure it out. I have faith in you.

VIZ IS BORING!!!!! AND REPETITIVE!!!!! Usagi Always says to monster girls, and villains, " you are Unforgivable!! When Monsters die they ALWAYS YELL!! "REFRESH!!!!!....." WHY????? WJAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN????? Sailor Soldiers ALWAYS have the EXACT SAME LINES, FOR THEIR OPENING SPEECHES, WHY????? YET, in DIC in 1994 in Toronto the new Script writers wrote BRAND NEW lines that truly indicate their individual scenes; and also the New Theme Music 🎶 Bob Summers and the combination of both synthetic and real instruments have been individually re-edited to fit EXACTLY EACH UNIQUE AND INDIVIDUAL SCENE!!!!! LIKE: " SERENA'S TRANSFORMATION THEME", has a preset timer ⏲ that precisely follows the choreography of her changing from normal into the Superheroine; and when the other Scouts join together in a mass combination of transformations this music is edited and stretched to fit in with these longer scenes. Plus ➕ when the DIC SAILOR SCOUTS have there challenging speeches they really sound like they are yelling at each individual monster. But sadly in the viz copy, each sailor soldier says the exact same old boring lines in Every single Episode, with: JUPITER: I'LL SHOCK YOU UNTIL YOU ARE FILLED WITH REGRET!!!!! THEN, MERCURY: Douse yourself in water 💧 and repent!!!!! Honestly, this sounds like she is going to a faith meeting in a Baptist Church ⛪ 🙏, PLEASE!!!!! LIKE, SERIOUSLY????? COME ON!!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE KIDDING, EHH?????
