I am a Remington fan, so thats the one I favor, but I would take either of these two any day
I know at least one place does, but I think there may be more by now these are getting very popular
these are very well made, nothing on them 'might break'
Sounds like it's getting close then !! One of these days you'll be 'getting the call' to go pick it up, have fun
For all NFA.. you first purchase (not take possession) then get paper work started, then wait, you send a check with the paperwork, so the tax is paid at some point while you wait, then if / when approved you get your tax stamp and then you can take possession
I love it. Makes for a very good security/emergency kit weapon.
i LOVE THESE SHOTTIES!!!! Great stocking stuffers
@wewd Thanks for that info, it's good to know they are available there
the remmington one made its appereance in Miami Vice 1985 season2. Tubbs was using one.
I'm sure I'll have a blast!! EVERYBODY needs one!!! Just be patient cause it takes awhile to get your stamp!!
That's going to be my new pistal Shotgun for ever
If they made these as Ithaca 37's, I would buy one in half a heartbeat.
Nice little review. When I was living in FL I wasn't able to get one. I was told they were illegal unless I was in law enforcement. Noe that I moved to PA I'm gonna have to check the stats around here. Thanks for the reminder, almost forgot about those little guys!
down ass gun man, i'm in love
Holy balls those things are wicked im buying one tommorow
Good video. Thanks.
nice review
I want one of those
Those just look like fun to shoot.
@ DieWolfen well the conversion to AOW includes the forward grip, so ... yes
Those shorty shotguns r incredible. I'm going to get one.
@chaching37 I suggest you consult both Remington and Mossberg.. you think we are the ones who set their prices?
@4167robert of course.. we are in Tucson
I pick up mine in 2 days. I started the purchase process 6 weeks ago.
Nice review as usual. I would like to own this. However, I didn't know these short barrels were legal for civilian use.
@spladdict yes, they are the same on the receiver
@quazy50158 your a glass half full kind of guy. Thats a good way to look at it thanks!
beautiful
Both are nice
@bfvweltfrieden not in my opinion.. I guess it depends what you are planning to use it for and how fast you can re-load
@PbDude2 Think Shelby.. They buy the car from Ford then 'soup' it up.. same here, Serbu is the custom gunsmith who starts with a Mossy or Remington and makes these "Serbus" out of them
this would be sweet in video games
Freakin awesome!!
really nice shotguns. something I would want for the car. =)
@metalcharger17 yes, of course they are
yes
@becoverss It's an "Any Other Weapon" because it came from the original manufacturer with a pistol grip. It as a $5 NFA tax. If it had come from the manufacturer with a regular stock attached, it would be a "Short Barreled Shotgun" and carry a $200 NFA tax. The difference between the SBS and AOW would be a matter of paperwork, they'd be functionally and cosmetically identical, so I can understand your confusion.
I think where the safety is located is a vital difference you left out. But thanks for the video
@GunWebsites well there goes any hope of ever getting one, thanks though
@MorfeuV The Super Shorty and all other AOWs except for pen guns are 100% LEGAL in California, provided they are properly registered and taxed by the federal government. OC Armory in Laguna Hills has Super Shortys in stock right now. You can ask them how to buy one legally in California.
@shiv595 It is for the transfer.. so you pay it once. IF you ever sell it the next buyer would also need to pay it
I have always been a Mossberg fan-boy as I have always had a better time with them. But I have to say that 870 Shorty looks outstanding! Great vid!
These would make a good Masterkey. Pistol grip and short.
we have posted many videos shooting these
Awesome.
@GunWebsites They were made with a slight pistol design but are still considered shotguns.
@foughtwolf Mag capacity isn't an issue with AOWs
thanks.. come visit and shoot this stuff one of these days
beautiful and awesome. i want this, and a "little shorty pistol" Mosin Nagant that i saw here on KZread.
@job1181 totally dude. i'm a 9mm guy. i'm looking at gettting a glock 26 for EDC and part of my home defense system. i like the 26 because it's compact enough for EDC, but you can get the 33rd mag with it as well. you're so right. the last thing i wanna be worried about is reloading in a high stress situation like that. even if you train for high stress, better not to ask yourself to do more than you have to. i just wanna be able to shoot until all the bad guys are gone lol
@G911CX It doesn't sound like you've had much experience with firearms.. shotguns and rifles are quite different / used for different things
@DanTheVikingr they make those, check out the video where we compare the SBS and AOW versions of these
You're so right! Nothing beats getting surrounded by a horde of 10+ zombies and only having three shots to fire! Better make those count, eh?
Hey man. Excellent video. Quick question for ya tho. I love these serbu shorty shotguns. But the only thing i don't like, are those drop down grip thing. I just like the regular pump action grip. do you know where i could find one like that? thankx :)
@Bootstastefunny they really do, we'll have to do a video on that mod sometime
made right here in tampa, i live fairly close to the building where they are produced
yup
Sweet shorties, nice I want one or a dozen or so, lol.
Dont forget the shorty shells, no wad 1.75 overall length could probably get 4 or so in that mag tube with a little modification
@poptat1 A bit, yes.. but not anywhere as bad as you might think
move next door to AZ and you could own these.. but yea, I bet these would bring convenience store crime down quite a bit if more store owners owned them
@LordoftheMojave great, keep some inside you
@LocalKingfor3 a pistol is a handgun with a chamber that is integral with the barrel, and a Handgun is a Firearm that can be fire from 1 hand, so if it matches these qualities, it's a pistol, no matter if it's in .22lr or god damn .50BMG its still a pistol.
i want to have one of these
Remington FTW
When i first shot one of these it felt like Ms. Harmony (the meaner of our Krav instructors) had kicked me in the stomach...but man do I want one. A guy I know is a dealer for them in Vancouver.
its not illegal in FLA, you just register it as an AOW through a local class III dealer and pay five bucks and wait up to 5 months for a response from the ATF. You also have to be 21 years of age.
@MuskieZz good, more for the rest of us
@G911CX do you think this is a rifle?
we have videos of shooting these, they are not too bad
for short shotguns it is, but these are AOW (Any Other Weapon)
@SirJosephOxford If you doubt me, that is you're opinion. Honestly I don't have a video camera, but now that someone actually brought it up, ill seek to it to get one.
@MANICISBACK yes, for all NFA
Mossberg is also tapped for sights.
@LocalKingfor3 not necessarily . take a ar-15 pistol for example . it still fires the same .223 cartridge
@Speedogg138 realy I stand corrected, I could have sworn it used to be $50,(it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong) then again I havent been in NY for a while, and thank god for that, you and all New Yorker shooters have my condolences it is a difficult place to own guns. and now I will go have fun with my folding stock, threaded muzzle, AK's with 75 round drums :)
@jdemers1993 theyre classified as any other weapons (aow) cause of the pistol grip, so theyre legal in most states
@rainbowfirewave yes, more ways than one
good for personal defense, in a car or any other closed place, and htey sould be very powerfull at short range
i have a reg mossberg 500, but i really wish i had one of those haha
@ dabluntmasta It was a pistol, but is now a registered Any Other Weapon (AOW)
@armagedon026 yes
Its been 4 months and I still havent got my stamp yet! I got a Mossburg Serbu.
@chaching37 Because 870 receivers are made from solid blocks of steel. Mossberg maverick 88's and 500's are made from aluminum
@bummercal most, it would be easier to list the few where the local laws ban or hinder private ownership of these legal firearms
@mwillblade .. unless you register them..
@shiv595 what does that mean?
you could make one outta a Mos 88, for $200 and a bit of planning
@thvirginian I haven't seen any autos this small
almost none, but I assume there is some We had a scale right there too.. sometimes we forget the obvious stuff..
hard to say, but basically the same as most short shotguns, especially with slugs
@zrotrust IMO yes, just minor differences really
@Bluewidowr1 That is not correct, they make Remington AOWs too
@maddog872 Nope, in fact these can not be made from shotguns.. legally they are made from parts never assembled
I say they take Kel-Tec's KSG foregrip and slap it on there. Something that looks a little comfier than a little fold-down bar.
Will those take minishells?
I hope it is known that the Mossberg is made off of a 500 model, with an aluminum receiver (lighter, corrosion resistant), the Remington 870 is steel (heavier, more recoil management)
@breal12989 no, these are AOWs
Hello, would this fall under the same classification say as the kel-tec plr16, just in shotgun caliber? Thank you and take care
@ mini14tx1 The laws that define shotguns were written in 1934 and have not changed since then I am not sure where you live, but here in the US, the major firearms laws are from 1934 and have changed little since then As for jemcnick.. he said something quite wrong, and I corrected him.. thats how conversation works.. What is there to "give a break about" ??
