One year later, the tree needs definately repotting, as the roots are lifting it from the pot. Let's see how the nebari is developed in a year.

Sempre un bel momento vedere i tuoi video e poi l amore e conoscenza del bonsai. Bel lavoro su una pianta che conosco poco. Grazie

Isn't? Sequoia is a great species for bonsai. The amount of wood that has been added in the nebari is unsurpassed. Thank you Wesley!
Beautifull work as allways :) Thank you!

Thank you Roberto! This tree needs many years of work still. Cheers!
Excellent production value! Really like redwoods as well. What is the soil you are using? Couldn’t tell if it was almost all perlite or pumice?

Thank you Matt! I really appreciate your comment! The substrate mix I'm using (for this tree, this time) is 65% zeolite, 30% perlite and 5% organic aggricates. I used more zeolite than usual, as I intend to fertilize hard this tree in the next 2 months. Cheers!

Definately let it heal for 2 weeks before applying any fertilizer. After that, root tips are mostly healed and you can start applying light fertilizer, but it should be organic, or have at least 40%organic content, so that it releases slowly.
Nice video as always 👍 Maybe you correct the video title.

Good morning Alain! This is Sequoia sempervirens. You can check the first video I've made for this tree, in 2021, February, with temperatures below freezing and it is in full leaf. Plus the foliage of Taxodium is much much finer and Taxodium do not usually produce so many basal sprouts. This tree is full of them. I have around 8 Sequoia sempervirens planted in the ground for my landscape along some cultivars like "Kelly's Prostate" and "Filoli", plus 5 Sequoiadendron giganteum along with cultivars like "Glaucum", "Pendulum". I know my stuff ... I do have taxodiums though. You can check my other videos for Taxodium distichum. I have successfully air layer them and this March I'm gonna have the best one in a ceramic pot. Happy new year!
