Sequim, Washington | 4k Driving Tour | Dashcam

Sequim /ˈskwɪm/ (About this soundlisten) is a city in Clallam County, Washington, United States. It is located along the Dungeness River near the base of the Olympic Mountains. The 2010 census counted a population of 6,606.
Sequim lies within the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and receives on average less than 16 inches (410 mm) of rain per year - about the same as Los Angeles, California - leading it to give itself the nickname of Sunny Sequim. However, the city is relatively close to some of the wettest temperate rainforests of the contiguous United States. This climate anomaly is sometimes called the "Blue Hole of Sequim". Fogs and cool breezes from the Juan de Fuca Strait make Sequim's climate more humid than would be expected from the low average annual precipitation. Some places have surprisingly luxuriant forests dominated by Douglas-fir and western red cedar. Black cottonwood, red alder, bigleaf maple, Pacific madrone, lodgepole pine, and Garry oak can also be large. Historically, much of the area was an open oak-studded prairie supported by somewhat excessively drained gravelly sandy loam soil, though agriculture and development of the Dungeness valley have changed this ecosystem. Most soils under Sequim have been placed in a series that is named after the city. This "Sequim series" is one of the few Mollisols in western Washington and its high base saturation, a characteristic of the Mollisol order, is attributed to the minimal leaching of bases caused by low annual rainfall.
The city and the surrounding area are particularly known for the commercial cultivation of lavender, supported by the unique climate. It makes Sequim the "Lavender Capital of North America", rivaled only in France. The area is also known for its Dungeness crab.
Sequim is pronounced as one syllable, with the e elided: "skwim". The name developed from the Klallam language.

Would have been nice if he goes to areas that I am interested in; like hospital, costco...it also be nice if there some narration like where we are at in the city, and what are some of the significant thing about that area; like this is downtown, or this is a popular Chinese restaurant to the right...

In the first half before they turned, they were headed directly towards the Pacific ocean. If they would have kept on, would have reached it sooner than later.

At the stop light, the wooden building on the right was an outdoor supply store. After the light on the right, that little building was for tourists/ information on the town. Usually holds maps and a restroom. The school is on the left. I played soccer in those fields. That little diner on the left 2:14 had presentable food. First place my family ate out at right after moving. 2:34, again, the soccer fields on the left. There is a little trail on the right that runs along the road, and crosses a little stream. Lavender plants, with rock landscaping. Lots of grasshoppers and snails there during the summer months.

The wooden building on the right is a home decor store, and before that it was the sundowner saloon. If you take the very first exit that goes directly through town. The visitor center is on the right before you get even to QFC that’s where all of the tourist information is distributed.

It’s beauty is offset by being part of progressive socialist Washington state government. A great place to have moved from. Seattle, Portland and California transplants who left because of horrible crime and restrictions end up driving those same destructive politics in little ole Sequim

Spot on! It's no longer the quaint town it used to be even a year ago. Much thanks to Realtors. Many Liberals brought their "great ideas" and failed to blend in with the locals. Sad!

It’s beautiful, but there’s no housing and our emergency services are overwhelmed. If you think this is such an awesome place to move to do your research before you up or life and bring it here. The Olympic peninsula is full.
