I remember when Sunmi would get panic attacks when she was in Wonder Girls, she would have to sit out of the performance and have ttouble breathing. I am so happy for her, I remember she said her dream was to become a singer that moves people (emotionally). Well Sunmi, you have achieved this, I am so proud of you and happy you chose to continue creating music.😚

that reminds me of when the intense hate sulli got began to increase more in 2013 and at one of the end of year festivals, f(x) recorded their stage about five times but sulli had to sit out on the fifth one because she was really sick and her condition was so bad that the cameraman didn't even give her much camera time because of how bad she looked, but of course, everyone, knets AND inets took it as her being lazy and just not wanting to be there when she actually loved f(x) so much, just that the public and even her own fans were so toxic to her that she couldn't handle it anymore. anyways i'm really proud of sunmi and other celebrities that open up about these things. it's a step forward to normalising mental health and allowing people to be open about it, and also giving a reminder that celebrities are just human like everybody else and they're allowed to have feelings, make mistakes and have troubles.

The comments here make me tear up every time. The outpouring of support for Sunmi is amazing. I'm so used to people saying we (people with BPD) are monsters so coming back here to read the words of love and acceptance from people who don't have BPD makes me so emotional. Especially the comments from people who have loved ones with BPD who are hard to deal with and even despite that, y'all don't think we're Incurably Evil (tm) as a whole. Thank you. Sunmi deserves great fans like you.

I'm so sorry you have been labeled such horrible things because you have bpd. It must be so painful to feel isolated on top of all the other emotions bpd puts you through. I just want to reassure you that no matter what anyone says, you're not a monster, you're a person, and you deserve the same level of love and care and respect as anyone else. Also, I know bpd gets a bad rep in the mental health field, but it is absolutely treatable with a combination of medication and therapy (check out DBT if you haven't already. the creator of DBT had bpd herself and really tried to make a therapy that's suited to the needs of people with bpd). There's nothing incurably evil about you! I hope you can find the same love and acceptance in the people around you as you did in the comments section.

As someone with bpd..i feel seen, this song is so beautiful, from the beginning of the song talking about how she pretended everything was okay trying to hide away the pain. Wanting to be represented by the world as a "good girl" Scared that bpd will make her seem scary and unstable. I find the second and third verse most accurate.. Bpd is very tiring, she mentioned a bird in her head, because thats literally what it feels like, a trapped bird trying to find its way to freedom and happiness, but instead their trapped in a dark toxic place. She also mentioned taking Xanax, which i relate too. I did anything to try and escape the void in my head and heart, but even still i ended up always feeling empty inside after the effects wore off. The scariest thing about living with bpd is knowing that out of nowhere you can take your anger out on someone for something small or no reason at all, there will be times where I'd just hate a person for no reason and nothing really could explain why i felt that way. My favorite verse in the song is "dont put me in a bad light, until im in the lime light." Bpd is already very stigmatized and misunderstood... We do tend to act irrationally only because we're scared, scared of people leaving, and scared of being seen as bad. We try very hard just to stabilize the thoughts in our heads and not project, but when we do project we end up feeling smaller afterwards. This song was very accurate and beautiful and im very greatful sunmi came out about this.

So many people set up ridiculous unrealistic standards for "good girl/women" (as opposed to "bad" girls, "disrespectful" girls, "sluts" etc.). But then they are the same people who go around calling those good girls "fake". In their eyes, a woman is either BAD or FAKE. You just can't win. That's why you just have to ignore those stupid people, fight back and just BE YOURSELF.

Being the eldest daughter of an Asian family is literally a struggle in itself. Sunmi, the eldest, has worked her ass off in the music industry since she was a minor. She had to deal with pervs, weirdos, and haters all together, trying to act tough for her image not to be tainted. She's a blessing for her family (giving them a sense of pride bc their little girl grew to be a successful and well-loved artist) as well as fans whom she inspired dearly and to those random people who are touched by this side of her, a vulnerable one. Thank you Sunmi for sharing your story that most, if not all, of us can relate to. Like Sumni said before, this song feel really raw. But it’s my kind of favorite song. Really admired that she finally released this song because it’s deeply personal : how she used to suffer but kept pretending that everything was okay. Even admitted she was taking Xanax, this may seem overdone to say in the western music industry but in Korea where mental illness are still taboo especially among idol that have to keep the perfect image, it’s really inspiring. This mature, dark yet sexy concept is everything I would hope to see even more in future song. The visuals are very classy and give this high fashion vibe I love. Moreover I was surprised this song is in English but il really suit the meaning of the song with her sultry voice, and the choreography feel almost contemporary (and seems difficult to achieve in live so really exciting to see it).

Being the eldest child in a family is already difficult enough, at a young age her father got really ill and they face financial difficulties. She quickly became the sole breadwinner and had to find a way to make a lot of money fast to afford her father's treatment. The young her decided to become a celebrity because she thought that was the only way, she trained hard and at last had the chance to debut in Wonder Girls, unfortunately her father passed away 3 months before he could see her debut. She faced so much criticism from people always pointing out her flaws and always telling her what to do at a young age but she had to bite her tongue and keep quite because she has to take care of her little brothers. Till today she still faces harsh criticism and every move she make is closely watch by people just waiting for her to make a little mistake to leave her hateful and degrading words. She has gone through so much, this song and video clearly depicts the struggles she had to endure from a young age and how it has already affected her. She mentioned many times how hard it is for her to share her struggles but she trust her fans enough that she had the courage to share this song and show her vulnerability. Hopefully this song can help others find comfort because she always mentioned that she hopes her songs can help people feel less lonely and find comfort.

I love how Sunmi shows her "darker" and deeper, also her vulnerable side in many of her videos and in her music. I think this is what makes it so strong. Of course i don't know her, but it always feels real and personal. I think she is really brave to put out such a song and I am really proud of her, the video is also a perfect representation - minimalistic yet so emotional and expressive. Also, i really hope she has good people around her, so she is not alone with her dark thoughts. Love you Sunmi, no matter how dark you get, you brighten my day

"Feels like a bird is living in my head Please don't piss me off, oh no I shouldn't have said that Because I'm a good girl Don't spill it out" wow. one of my biggest fears as a pwBPD is that one day I'll say too much, get too emotional, and suddenly I'll be alone again. one of the hardest parts of bpd for me is that fear that you'll lose control of yourself and scare people away. that combined with the guilt of knowing you hurt someone can make it so that sometimes i feel like the only way to keep everyone safe is to create a character to play, someone who's always happy and never gets upset.

I listened to this song a few months ago, I loved the song but I thought she was using the 'concept' of a Bordeline personality, since that seems to be a thing in Kpop, but to know that it is actually a personal song about her mental disorder; I'm so proud of Sunmi for speaking about it especially in an industry where Mental Health is still a Stigma and almost a sin to speak about it when we all go through it and mental health is as important as doing a check at the doctors, but still people don't know. I'm very smiley person and I have depression, but people wouldn't know if I don't tell them. Let's go SUNMI, you got this and everyone who is going though it, we are in this together! 💖

Talking/learning about mental health, volnerability, having the right people around, being able to listen to your body and not being objectivying AND stop trying to hide everything and saying that everything is great/fine/ok is so important- no essential!!! Hi, hello! I'm the one that organized her banner event for the DC concert. Haha~ It feels like so many moons ago. When will we get another world tour from her? But she's releasing a lot this year. So much content!

I can’t believe she has a personality disorder , Someone close to me has it and it’s confusing at times because they wake up differently each day . But I’m glad Sunmi decided to speak and share it with us . We love you Sunmi and we’ll all continue to support you , Remember self care comes before anything !!! I’ll keep listening to your music . Much love from nyc 💯

If the person close to you has BPD, I think it'd be helpful for you to remember it's usually (but not always) trauma-induced. So what seems like a different personality is probably just them reacting to something that indirectly triggered their trauma.Think of them as a stray, abused cat reacting to being an environment entirely different from what they've always known. I hope this perspective helps you. I know not understanding our behaviours or mindset can be really frustrating, confusing, probably scary, and heartbreaking. If this is any consolation, most of the time, we don't understand ourselves either.

I was diagnosed with BPD (amongst other disorders) about a year ago. I honestly cried the first time I watched this video. Having a public figure express her feelings and struggles about this disorder feels kinda surreal to me. I do feel that BDP is heavy stigmatized, so having her not only being honest about her diagnosis but also putting out a music video so endearing and real is enough to make me sob. I don't know if Sunmi will ever read this, but thank you. Your music and art makes me feel safe.

shes talking about the mental illness "I'm on the borderline please stay by my side" (fear of abandonment that can send us directly to insanity). "being on xanax for years" (people with BPD experience chronic internal anxiety and anxiety is a common comorbid )
