Hi. Due to the recent avast shutting down jumpspot, did ahrefs use jumpshot for it's data needs. And now with jumpshot no longer existing, do you use other data vendors to make up for loss in data?

I noticed that I am on Google's first page 6 times when searching extreme boxing drills and 5 for extreme heavybag drills. Proof that videos, blog posts and images all show up on first page results. I beat Men's Health on other related terms as well. and guess what - I'm only using a free wordpress site. LOL Great Video Brother! and I'm a subscriber to Ahrefs (corporate account).

I'm super interested in the content pruning part but not sure what's the best way: we're a news publication and we have subscribers that pay for new issues but also the entire library of backissues (as a selling feature). Is there a way to NOT delete old content but perhaps move it to a subdomain or noindex that content to see the gains from content pruning but still keep it for subscribers?

Hey @Sam, Thanks for the great content as usual. Question - How do you find an email just from the URL? I mean, I'd have hunter/excel sheet addon, but it only searches for an email with a (name) and domain/url. P.S. I use your excel sheet almost daily...Thanks a TON.

Hey! With just the domain name you can only guess. There are patterns used for e-mails like john.doe@domain.com, so you can guess other e-mail by looking up people from the same company on LinkedIn, in example. - Max

Buzzstream is great for searching for email addresses, phone number, etc. But you can only 'approve' one result at a time. It works though and works even better if you have an intern, cause its a boring task. Powerful, but boring.. ha ha!

We've deleted a few pages on our site but they show as errors (404) on the Ahrefs site audit. How do we stop this happening in order to increase our site score? There doesn't seem to be a physical way to actually remove the URL's from our web builder despite setting the dormant URL's to redirect. (Squarespace) As always, great content!

Using an auto poster of your content to social medias is great too. Once set up, i add multiple variants to the post published on social itself, and here i go. I just did x10 of my facebook traffic this way. All that with a 10 minutes set up... :)

Can be useful, if you have enough readers and followers in social media... Otherwise it could help for indexing (especially twitter) but not for search rankings :)

@@seosimple50 all my blog posts are sended to Twitter/facebook with wordpress plugin - so it is enough for me. I have over 12.000 followers but it doesn't generate even 10 visits... According to my stats on blog.. just 1-2 :( With 10-15 I would be happy :) Maybe my followers are not "interested society" for my blog stuff... Anyway, good luck !

Great video as usual. But why hit up those you've linked to?... I hate that link building has to do with so much sucking up to folks just to get a link! Aren't they also monitoring stuff on their site to know that someone has linked to their content?... Can't they also reciprocate by linking to or sharing my content in return without me "begging" for same?

Hello Ahrefs. Thanks for your videos. I am aware that content on the web site should never be repetitive, as it may not help the user's experience to be looking at the same. Does that apply to content that I specifically want to add to a section limited to clients where they can only access through a password? Not sure. Usually, I'll just soft 404 or 301 the page. There have been a few cases where I 410'd them. Didn't see a noticeable difference. -Sam

Might be a good idea for a future video. As for now - analyze competing pages. Check their backlink strength and content. You probably want to follow the angle of the content to rank higher. If top tanking pages offer a guide or review, keep the same idea for your page. Additionally, you might want to boost this particular page with some inlinks to improve it backlink strength a bit. Lastly, structure the content to win the featured snippet, if there are any available, as you may still rank #4-9 but own a featured snippet. - Max

What about people with an online store? A lot this seems to apply to "content" websites, but what about someone like me who runs a Vegan Skincare ecommerce shopify site? Sure I can blog on my site but I'm a businessman, so my focus isn't going to be as intense as someone who blogs for a living. so im not sure how to apply much of this beyond general SEO.......even backlinking becomes more of a challenge with fewer lateral niche opportunities.

I think you can add subtitles to the video, such: Chinese subtitles. Which is a good choice for Chinese beginners with huge population. For different regions, add different subtitles, I think this is a good idea.；)

DR is based on number of referring domains with a dofollow link. The higher DR a linking site has - the more value it pass over to you, unless it links to thousands of other sites, where all of the "link juice" is divided between all of linked domains. Check your sitemap. I can't tell you how many website I review and open their sitemap.xml file and see 'thank-you' pages, old versions of pages, and in wordpress, post types that shouldn't be published as pages. Cleaning up your sitemap could take you just a few minutes and then go back to search console re-submit your sitemap so you have a clean ratio of pages submitted to pages indexed.

@@AhrefsCom of course in the case of WordPress, if you're using Yoast checkout sitemap_index.xml for your sitemap. Disable your posts types that aren't unique pages, and use the yoast page tool in advanced options to noindex pages that are gated or old.
