    Oh my god dude, you helped me to fix my own Momentum True Wireless 2 headphones after they got wet in the rain. I gently opened my left earpiece, exposed the speaker diaphragm and resealed the diaphragm to the edges. Good as new. PHEW! Thank you very very much.

    As someone who just attempted this fix. I have a few words of advice. If in the warranty time frame use it. Do not use any consumer glues even if they have roughly the same temperature limit as the first adhesive. Sennheiser uses something that doesn't bond chemically with ABS. If anyone knows it let me know. A 0.4mm solder tip is not small enough for soldering as it will melt the ABS next to it. I've learned a valuable lessons here.

    What solder tip do you recommend ? Cause I guess I will have to do it on myown

    @@danielwalker6230 a 0.4mm tip works but it's very hard not to melt the surrounding plastic a bit. A micro soldering tip may solve this. As for the glue Elmer's Clear glue is the best replacement I have found for the original glue. let it set for 5 days for the glue to fully set. Test for sound before gluing. Also have a magnifier glass and a fine tip tweesers. The wire is stupid tiny. Good luck!!

    Great video, you have amazing skills and patience. This headphones are trash and not worth what Sennheiser asks for them. Mine failed after a few weeks of gentle use. Got them replaced under warranty.

    These earbuds are overpriced trash. I had this issue with the first version and now with the second version. Both problems were with the right bud. Instead of playing music, it makes a tinging sound.

    @@berkekaratas295 I fixed the problem by buying a new pair and returning the defective set. The company has no interest in fixing the issue. These buds are sensitive to being used in cold and hot conditions. This is when these issues surfaced for me. -9c and 36c. The diaphragm isn't very durable so I don't recommend playing them at high volume while in extreme temperatures.

    I have the same issue, but on the left one. Tinging sound too. I returned 2 sets already, and now it happened again. Unbeliveable.

  • @gunstargizmo

    @gunstargizmo

    @@keszthelyipeter5464 It's also possible that the issue is with the Bluetooth chip because I still hear the beep in both buds, and the beep comes from the buds themselves, not through a signal coming from the device. So if it was with the speaker, you wouldn't hear the beep either. I've had Jaybirds X3's which functioned fine in the same temperatures in which these malfunctioned.

  • @keszthelyipeter5464

    @keszthelyipeter5464

    @@gunstargizmo Mine is totally deaf, no beeping sound, just a very low volume 'tinging' sound when I move the bud. So it's not a beep, it sounds like a contact issue. But happened 3 times now the same way, with the left earbud. There were no minus temperatures either since I have this pair. I will send it back again, but a bit tired of it to be honest. Won't even care if they won't send a replacement at this point.

    Just found your videos! Can you do a video on what tools you use for this closeup-work-on-itty-bitty-things? Also I have an 30 year old Craftsman 5.5” circular saw that “Craftsman no longer supports and no parts are available” to repair it. I do not want to junk it. It stopped working - it just doesn’t function when plugged in. I know this is an impossible question, but is this “repairable” without access to parts? As in digging into the motor and rebuilding it using fundamental components. My husband thinks it might be the brushes. He’s not inclined to try to repair it, but I think it might be a good learning experience for me to explore. I’ve seen videos where people build motors etc from scratch. Applying that logic, it seems like this should be repairable. The question is: is it worth the effort? A cost-benefit analysis says no. But to me the experience and knowledge benefits are worth it. Any books you can recommend for this type of project/training? Right now, this is a whim, but …. Enjoyed the video. It was very meditative occupying your brain as you diagnosed and repaired the wee speaker.

    Yes it's worth it! I wish I had a wife who thinks like you! If you're gentle with it & careful not to damage or break anything, take it apart, document it for reassembly maybe using a phone camera, and get the serial numbers of the motor and parts. Find out on the internet if you can source replacement brushes or other parts. Diagnostics can be tricky but brushes should be obvious. Electrical components may be harder to test. You'd need a multi-meter as a minimum. Most guys would be happy to offer advice if you went to an expert with informed questions and a bit of humility. Maybe take the parts with you. It's the only way to learn. Everything is possible if you focus your attention like a laser-beam. From my own experience, if you start getting impatient or annoyed while you're working on it, put it down and go off and do something else. Come back when you're relaxed & keen to make more progress. Getting annoyed can make you break something and end up scrapping it.

    I've had 4 pairs of these since 2019, and so far only one working right ear bud. They do nothing but play music while I'm sitting on the couch. The quality control, especially of the MK2's is atrocious. I don't even know if I want to send this new non-functioning pair back. What's going to happen when I get the replacements? A month later another dead right ear bud?

    This doesn’t really work. I just did the repair. It plays audio again but doesn’t sound the same as the other one so it’s useless. The translucent diaphragm is the speaker cone and disrupting it permanently alters the sound.

  • @ridesafe1660
    @ridesafe1660 Жыл бұрын

    Don't attempt this repair if you expect to attain the original sound quality. The translucent film being partially peeled back is the equivalent of the speaker cone. Peeling it back and then re-attaching it to the perimeter of the speaker module, unless done with the precision of the robotic machine that assembles the unit, results in a sound quality that is inferior to original and, therefore, distinctly different from the other earbud. Does it restore the sound as indicated in the video? Yes. Identical to the other, working earbud? No.
