Seneca’s Most Powerful Quotes
Always remember them.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca, otherwise known as Seneca the Younger, or just Seneca was born in southern Spain over 2,000 years ago and educated in Rome. He was the son of Seneca the Elder, a well-known Roman writer as well as later in his life uncle to the poet Lucan.
One thing that stands out from Seneca is that he is one of the most enjoyable and readable of all ancient philosophers. Part of it was due to the fact that his most notable works came in the form of letters. Two of the most popular include On the Shortness of Life and Letters from a Stoic.

Stoicism has completely changed my life and this is just some of the things it gave me ; -serenity -freedom -happiness -resilience -deeper compassion to others -purpose -discarded my anxiety -fearlessness So I urge all of you to learn philosophy and teach your kids. No better person than Ryan to provide us with excellent content like this!

@@LMAOuncleDEMO you need to read epictetus, then progress towards Marcus then Seneca. Then the others. And practice daily and by god you’ll see results

Great video! Thank you very much! Will have to watch it a 100 times
Great meditation to start the day. One book that I read over the weekend that embodies stoicism is "Medici Money"- a true wonder what this Italian family went through to be among the most memorable in the world of art and finance.
Ryan! You're back, good to see you again posting brother!

Great quotes, thanks for the inspiration!
Really great compilation 👍
It was your videos that inspired me to do a Diploma in Stoicism and start to study it for the rest of my days. I am early on in my journey and excited! It was Miyamoto Musashi that kind of led me to Stoicism. And from what I have discovered so far, it is Seneca I resonate with more than any other stoic so far. One of my favourite quotes is. " We suffer more in imagination, than in reality" An unbelievably powerful and layered sentence!

Just don't be annoying about it. Stoics are like engineers and vegans, they always let you know they are one.

Seems like Seneca's doppelganger wanted to have a go at sharing some wisdom too! Maybe this PseudoSeneca is the real source of wisdom? xD

This dude is part of the reason why the Romans never had an industrial revolution. He talked about how there were inventions made within living memory like steam power and hypocausts, but he said that these were “the works of the lowest slaves” and were to be disregarded. Considering the extreme power of industrialized nations, this quote aged very poorly…

According to you, but who’s to say that the Industrial Revolution was good? See how far we have come from our nature and all of the societal problems that have come from it.

@@thenoblepoptartit's sad and I agree with you on your comment but a lot of pain and evil has come from the brutal progression that is industrialisation. I agree that it is human nature and it is likely unstoppable but imagine that we had some restraint. Life could perhaps be better.
