Sending The Jeep Off To Its New Home

I've had a lot of fun working on this Jeep, but at this point in the game if I kept fixing the small things around the Jeep it would turn into a money pit so it's time to send it on its way to a new home. Thanks to everyone for all the support on this project, but it's time to find a new project to wrench on! Thanks for watching!

Thank you! It was a great project and all things considered it turned into a fairly decent daily driver. I wish the interior ended up better, but there was a point where the project would’ve turn into a money pit if I kept fixing the small things. It feels great that it’s goin to a good home. The girl that bought it had been looking at some 20 other Jeeps and finally settled on this one so knowing that it’s going to the right buyer makes it that much more special. I couldn’t agree more Zane! The KZread community we’ve built here is pretty awesome. It makes the whole KZread thing worth while knowing there’s good people out there that watch and are always willing to help with advice. Thanks for being a part of it and enjoy the rest of your weekend Zane!😀👍

I sold my XJ last January, I made a lot of money, like 300% of what I paid for it in 2015. I miss her a lot, I got a '96 Bronco but I miss the 4 doors lol and the interior quality of the XJ was superb compared to the Bronco (I don't know about Bronco mechanics quality yet). I filmed her when she was leaving the block with the new owner. The Bronco was my dream from my youth, that's why I bought it once I got a big chunk from the XJ, I hope I won't regret it. Excellent videos, I subscribed it to your channel.

These XJs’ are getting harder and harder to find in good condition. The four doors are definitely an upgrade over the bronco however I prefer the Broncos width. They’re both iconic platforms, and I think they’ll only go up in price from here on out. Thanks so much for watching! Its great to have another automotive enthusiast on board😀👍

Thank you so much for the support it really means a lot! It was a fun project while it lasted. The person who bought it had been looking for a Jeep Cherokee for some time (she said she looked at some 20 other Jeeps!) So it feels great that it’s going to a good home and she’s going to appreciate the work I put into it👍

Awesome, I bought a 1998 jeep Cherokee 4x4 automatic with 165k miles 3 weeks ago from 1 of my customers for $1000 cash no questions asked in excellent condition inside and out, with brand new BFG ko2 tires that he just spent $1500 on, I didn’t even look it over just handed him the cash and loaded it on my trailer because I didn’t have anyone to drive it home. His previous mechanic before me told him it needed a new ECM because it would run great til it was shut off warm then it would have a crank no start issue til it cooled down for 15-30 minutes so he bought a used ECM and had it sitting in the back seat of the jeep for months before deciding to just sell it, I figured it was the common heat soak issue with the fuel rail and supply line so I ran it about 40 minutes and shut it off and got it to repeat the crank no start issue while hooked to my scanner and all it ended up needing is a crank position sensor which I still need to do but man I felt like I won the lottery for once

Wow! That’s sounds like an amazing deal! It’s hard to find these Cherokees in decent shape for cheap anymore. I hope the repairs go smoothly for ya.👍

The Jeep turned out nice! For future reference, if you ever have to ask yourself, 'am I going to regret this?' Don't do it. It'll save a headache down the road. Have you considered fixing up a utility trailer? Or are you trying to stay with the automotive stuff? Just something to consider.

It wasn’t “perfect” by any means but it turned into a really great daily driver plus on top of that it went to a really good home so all’s we’ll that ends well. That’s a good point Wesley. That seat belt fiasco didn’t go according to plan at all simply because I was in a rush to get it done. I haven’t thought about a utility trailer before. That’s actually a good idea. Because we’re not in the “salt belt” there’s several out there that have old decks but solid frames.

@YDOC Productions you can make a couple of bucks by flipping those, as long as they don't need too much work done to them. Most people don't know how to weld either. So if it needs fenders or small patch work, you can usually find them for a bit cheaper.

That’s not a bad idea! As a matter of fact I looked at one a few months ago and almost brought it home it just want the right truck for me. There’s tons of those 7.5l engines out there for not that much money either.

Thank you! It worked out really well! The new owner sounded like she’s going to take really good care of it so it makes it all worth it. That’s a good idea! There’s several projects that I’m thinking of that would be a lot of fun. Thanks for warning😀👍
