Maybe he’s holding off on using the term perjury even if it’s accurate. Timing is important and impeachment proceedings may hinge on other factors of which the public is unaware. The quieter his investigations, the better, imo. Senator Whitehouse is no stranger to the mechanizations of the Federalist Society and delivered a number of speeches exposing their tampering with the law, the executive and legislative branches of government. He is an astute, determined politician who is a fact-seeking member of the Judiciary Committee; he will continue fighting for the removal of corrupt influences in our government. I trust his judgement in how to handle those who seek to overthrow our government and enslave the People.

This means that the Justices hold office as long as they choose and can only be removed from office by impeachment. Has a Justice ever been impeached? The only Justice to be impeached was Associate Justice Samuel Chase in 1805.

Not country, the government. This Supreme Court is very very clearly in opposition to a strong public will for some basic protections for a woman's right to privacy. It's about her bodily autonomy, sick and tired of conservatives fixating on abortions. It's a woman's body, first and foremost, and that should be the root of the discussion.

I wonder how long will the right to lifers will enforce their views on all citizens. How wider will their choice of controlling women will be? It could be the freedom of rapists to be free to continue evil acts. A group of mostly men that use money to justify the changes of women’s lives. It will be frightening to know what will come next. Will women who are raped, be forced to take their child to see the imprisoned father? Imagine this happening and having some women not admitting to rape? The expense of the child mainly falls on the mother. Republicans don’t want to give any money for this child’s birth and care. These men force women to hate themselves from puberty till menopause for fear of becoming pregnant until death. Depression and suicide will grow exponentially in women. @@halcyonacoustic7366 With respect, pygmies are referenced in Greek mythology, and, in ethnographic terms, exist not solely in Africa, but in Southeast Asia, among certain Pacific Island groups, and in South America. Thus, pygmies are not necessarily African. To be candid, you have attempted to score points by imputing racist motives in my comment, when, in point of fact, the racism you seek is not in my comment. You have made a specious and facile inference. I suspect that had I said, "intellectual dwarfs," you would have castigated me for--in your perception--a glib act of impugning persons of short stature. While this would lack the power of suggesting racism, it would carry the lesser sting of an accusation of my practicing the bias of "heightism." Lastly, analogies that compare intellectual giants to pygmies can be readily found...if one cares to expend the effort, as opposed to engaging in casual (lazy) sniping innuendo. Cheers

That won’t happen until Citizens United vs FEC is overturned. It legalizes dark money; as long as it’s law, it’s legal for anonymous contributions to candidates. Watch the documentary, “Dark Money”; it explains the influence and outright fraud that led to that decision. It also points out why our judiciary system is so important, ie examples are the 2020-1 decisions re the frivolous voting violations which were delivered by Federal and district judges, not SCOTUS. Senator Whitehouse most def belongs in a position where he can call attention to corruption and continue his fight for Justice.

@@jamesg3131 babies sure, but Pro "Life" doesn't seem to care about that by preventing things such as healthcare, education, and social services reforms. Fetuses, however, that get them up and going.

My daughter was raped when she was eleven years old by a sixty-year-old man. If she had gotten pregnant, this would force her to carry it to full term regardless of her physical or mental wellbeing. I can't begin to say how outraged I am by this.

@@imalikconnor Excellent question and the real point: GOPeers want more children born to minorities, people at risk, etc. so that when these children need help, become school age, etc. the GOPeers will deny and obstruct that aid and then blame it on the Democrats. Let's be clear. This is, and always has been, about power and control. We literally PAY, train, provide healthcare, education opportunity, grant awards and medals, parades and multiple holidays to men for killing to "protect" our nation and communities. But women are required to perform gestation, labor and delivery, face possible disfigurement or even death, for FREE, and even provide their own healthcare and pay for their own time off of work, in order to bring LIFE into the world. That's not pro-life; that's pro-control and slavery. My mother had a saying, "Don't tell me you love me. Show me." Well, we can see who these people honor by their actions and it's not the life-givers.

It is not the bodies responsibility to nurture the embryo. 40 to 60% of fertilized eggs fail to implant and are flushed away. 50% of all fertilized eggs are lost before a women's missed menses. I'd like to get Senator Whitehouse's opinion on the idea that overturning Roe v. Wade has very little to do the morality of abortion, even restricting women's rights, and more to do with ensuring generations of low-wage labor pools largely for conservative states, just another extension of the Southern Strategy.

We must force clarence thomas to recuse himself, and then an 8 member court would hopefully split and not overturn Roe v wade

Thomas doesn't need to recuse himself. He needs to be invested for his & his wife's involvement in "Stop the Steal."

I think the Court should be brought back to the constitution, where they only laws they can "review" are state laws like the constitution says. They shouldn't be allowed to make bribery legal or to appoint presidents or to overthrow federal laws like the Voting Rights Act. Every justice who participated in such should be arrested, imprisoned, and replaced with a justice who has at least read the constitution once.

Sorry. The Constitution is no longer fit for purpose because Congress has been in stasis for so long that legislation no longer reflects the 21st Century. In short, the bizarre behaviour of the likes of McConnell has turned the Constitution into toilet paper.

Sen. Whitehouse is an excellent speaker and an example for his constituents AND all Americans who believe in how business SHOULD be conducted within the Halls of Congress. Kudos, Senator.

Easily one of the MOST thoughtful men in Washington, I don't know why he isnt a POTUS candidate in the wings.

One man of integrity and ethics standing up for us, the women of this underhanded maneuver by the supreme court. Leaves that court severely damaged and untrustworthy. What can we trust anymore ? Hopefully there are more. As a voter and an American Citizen this issue needs those committed to the laws we uphold so we have something to vote for that we can believe. The Supreme Court has shown us who they are and they need to go. • They lied under oath • One or two have put themselves as a higher power to be able to sit in judgment on cases to help wives and financial affairs involving them. This was a court, the highest in our land and it has shamed itself and they have lost credibility. It's no longer safe to assume the luxury that if you need it's services it is now no longer an option. Get them out. This is AMERICA. The court has some who have perjured themselves and ruled outcomes to the highest bidder and people who own them.

We are being "dumbed down" and anesthetized to the realities of our world and the choices made as to what one listens to as reliable sources is all based on personal bias which feed their positions. With books being pulled from school libraries our children will learn new stories of our history that will not be true. Family's who care about the preservation of democracy , the holocaust, racism and a country we've lived and died for is so important and can be shared within a family structure as a base. The truth vs lies and made up conspiracy theories. Bring reading back. Ditch the tv for a few hours. Cut the computer games back and the TV and gather round the fireplace and talk to each other. Bring a neighbor in to join. This is a wonderful time and great opportunities to regain human connections. Find joy and seek the truth. This is a fight and it's coming at us but uniting and sharing brings results and doesn't use guns or weapons. It uses basic communication skills we already have and we are well equipped. Good journeys. THESE ARE JUST PERSONAL OPINIONS. EVERYONE HAS THIER OWN.

If we're talking about real science here, you should know that the science rarely speaks of when life begins because that's a philosophical/religious question (science can't define "life" no more than it can define when it begins; for example, scientist argue whether viruses are forms of life or not). What science do talk about is _viability_ and that is what informs the laws on abortion.

Mitch McConnell stated publically that "the court was too liberal" and that he thought "the court needed to be more conservative". So it was an intentional thing Mitch McConnell helped manipulate. The Supreme Ct like the two other branches is to be an independant branch of Govt to set precedents regarding the rights of the people. So if by " too liberal" Mitch meant "too much for the people", then thats exactly the mission and purpose of the Supreme Ct. That in judgements, through the court, the Supreme Ct will rule how the case is suppressive or oppressive or wrongfully precedented for the people. Whitney V California and Brandenburg v Ohio. State that while we have a 1st Amendment right to freedom of speech, that speech can be regulated to not include hate speech or speech that has potential to incite violence. Now while we may disagree with the hate speech in Brandenburg, we must acknowledge that they do have some right to it, in denying their right, we would be denying our own right to disagree verbally. The Supreme Ct should never be corrupted or manipulated. Judges ESPECIALLY (although every branch is asked via Constitution), should actually be "independant from political party, religion and unbiased to race". "Liberal" in America is not necessarily Democrat or Republican. It is not operating in anything but the oath supporting and defending "democracy" for all citizens.

@TRUMPkissedPutinsAnus Cavity Well, I see things a little differently, apparently than you, I suppose. I believe that while the last three Supreme Ct may have been unjustly and improperly "installed" (some of that still needs to be called out with McConnell and Trump). That does not mean that they will not think liberal. The Supreme Ct that determined Roe v Wade originally in 1973 was a "manipulated" court in a way. In that, no women or people of color were on that Court. Supreme Cts had been being manipulated. It was a majority "Republican" court and it gave a "ruling" that was a liberal, and progressive ruling even today. All things are possible to those who believe THEY CAN BE. As far as Mitch McConnells manipulated court is problem that "he wanted a more "conservative" court. Thats the words he used. His version of "conservative" is "right wing extreme" which is not aligned with the Constitution in the U.S.A it violates the articles and some amendments. So the Justices would have to go against the Constitution (an impeachable offense in America) as the treasonous/seditious behavior and abuse of power it is. They dont want to go there. They really don't.
