    Great video, we both run the 6.5 and just got a bunch of Easton goodies in today. What wraps do you recommend? And what wrap mat is that? Keep up the great vids

    Thanks man and I was using the Nock On mat in that video. I use whatever magazine happens to be laying around these days but I ran that mat until it was a glued up crusty mess. Wraps wise I actually sell me own now. Two years of toying and testing but really proud of the current wraps we have on the site. They go on and off clean and adhere really well. The ones in this video were an early experiment.

    May have to give these easton 6.5 a shot for the TAC and R100. Too expensive to risk destroying my axis match grades at those long distances....the lower gpi of these arrows should help me pick up some extra distance as well.

  • @KnightsoftheApex

    @KnightsoftheApex

    My thoughts too. I am interested to see how the larger diameter shafts perform at longer distances in the wind. With 125 grain points and four fletch bully vanes my Bowhunter Classics have actually been grouping better than my Axis Match Grades but I haven't shot them enough to say they are for sure a more accurate setup.

    Knights of the Apex agreeed I would think 6.5mm should still do ok in the wind unless things get really crazy but it is still a concern of mine.

    Been running Subsonic points from DCA custom arrows lately and love them. Ran a lot of Bohning bullet points in the past and they are equally well made the pointed tip is just more susceptible to damage.

    Is it enough to use a cheap pipe cutter to cut carbon shafts to length?

  • @KnightsoftheApex

    @KnightsoftheApex

    Жыл бұрын

    I wouldn’t. You could fracture the carbon further up the shaft. It’s not worth taking that gamble and having an arrow explode in your hand. Take them to a shop and have them cut or if you purchase through Lancaster they can cut them for you for a few extra bucks. Invest in an arrow squaring device to finish them up at home and you’ll save $200 on the saw.

  • @presmak25

    So....have you ever shot a bare shaft and checked to see which way your arrow is spinning before fletching? If not, that right helical/offset may be counter acting the natural spin of the arrow. Example: my Mathews VXR with Gold Tip Pierce Platinum 400 arrows naturally spins to the left. So I fletch my arrows with a 2.0 degree LEFT offset. If I fletch to the right, for the first 10-20 feet, or what ever distance it would be, the vanes would be fighting to get the arrow to spin the opposite direction, which would be to the right. This is creating drag and more importantly, an inaccurate arrow. Something to think about

  • @KnightsoftheApex

    @KnightsoftheApex

    4 жыл бұрын

    True, but the impact on accuracy and speed is negligible. And for a hunting arrow a left helical on a faster bow can actually loosen broadheads.
