As a conconstruction worker in Toronto that works on these Buildings from ground, up. The building cost is about 10% of the sold price. Everything is cheaply built and covered up with "expensive" looking cosmetics. I've worked on some of Toronto's most "luxurious" buildings...stop wasting your money and build a custom built house instead.

Thst's crazy!! It's a commerial building. I can't see them cheaping out on the foundation, sound proofing. There's codes they have to adhere to. I can see them using cheaper drywall. But for some marble counter top I didn't see much in the way of expensive finishes, ha ha. I saw pot lights. Not one expensive lighting fixture.

@@jobrownsmith116 a lot of inspectors don't go though everything to check, especially a 55 story building. Half of the time, they just write it off as a pass without even showing up to the job sites. As as electrician, the amount of fire harzard I've seen - exposed wires behind walls. Just so electrical problems can be fix without damaging drywall. Didn't have time to fix it properly as move in day was closd by.

The broker said that the owner had never lived there. Pretty standard for Toronto, where most of the high-end condo units are sold as investments. I can see 10 Yorkville from my co-op building and its more than half empty all year round....there are only lights on a few floors. When the city has a housing crisis, it feels almost criminal to have all those empty units.

In china if you buy a property you can only own it for 70 years or Latin America (like in venezuela) the government manages to destroy the value of its coin, now imagine you being a billionaire. Where would you put your money? Canada offers safety and praticity, but do not think this is bad for the country, with the construction sector booming there are more jobs and more money circulating in the city and also the many tax payers and businesses men who invest in the country. If the inflation and ppl being pushed away from the city sounds bad, think that many Canadians usually leave downtown in their 30s in order to start a family.

Yes, you are right. A close friend of mine used to be VP at one of the departments at the Four Seasons Hotel corporate office and said that pretty much all/most owners of these Four Season luxury condos are customers of the hotel. Thus, why they comprise mostly of non-Canadians. Instead of paying for nightly stays at the hotel, when they’re in town for business or leisure, they’d rather stay at a property they can own as an investment, have the comforts of home and the amenities hotel patrons have (aka the internal phone to connect with concierge). Primarily for investment purposes, both for Four Seasons Hotel and the owners of these units. They’re viewed as a vacation home for most. Many of them own multiple properties and homes around the world. That’s common for the rich.

Kitchens with all the bells & whistles a chef could dream up but no pot fillers! What gives? Do the developers or architects or whomever not see the need for such a convenience or is it something else I haven’t thought of? I’d really love to know why this isn’t a thing in Toronto’s priciest condos.

Probably because a good chunk of the buyers don't live in their units as it's an investment or they're hardly ever staying there and actually cooking. They probably have private chefs or butler service to take care of that for them

Marble is the worst stone for a kitchen or washroom. It is porous and scratches easily. Anyone notice the hostess scratch the counter with stovetop cover? They even joked about the marble cracking! All residences above the terrace = cigarette and joints all over the terrace. CSA: Yorkville is not not a AAA neighborhood-A- at best. As a Vinitourist, I confidently say the food and drinks at all the restaurants featured here is below par and over priced. For Quality food and a greater selection of quality wines, beers, and spirits one must travel a solid 15 minutes by car out of the neighborhood.

Despite all the truth and hilarity within these comments I still want this place. Gut that foyer and panel it in chestnut wood and marble, a snooker table, a idyllic sofa lounge area. The library should be all (chestnut, why not) wood and where the russet is hiding put a floor to ceiling bar flanked by two wooden columns, temperature controlled cabinet display and a sliding ladder for fetching books or bottles from the high shelves.

When the Toronto market crashes because people are spending 60% of their income to live in "luxury" condos, this condo's price will lose a zero on the value.

What is the point of buying a condo for 12 million and having such a crappy view in comparison with what you would see from the other side of the building? Spend a little more money and get a view of the lake, cn tower, and the downtown skyline

A big oversight is not utilising the outdoor living space. Such a huge patio and EMPTY, so much potential. Common of Toronto to not fully live in their homes outside living space should they even have one. This four seasons could have such gorgeous patio furniture, even a BBQ, maybe a jacuzzi and firepit. Not Really worth 12 million, maybe half that.
