Hello friends! I thought I'd do this luxury jewellery collection, and whilst filming I came to a thought: Should I just go ahead and sell-off the Chanel costume jewellery pieces? What do you think?xx

I would keep the brooches if I were you, there's so classy on a coat whether tall or short, or a jacket... I consider them as contemporary. They're an obsession of mine, though I don't wear costume jewellery but 18ct yellow and dainty. I would love to buy one if it'd be possible and should you go ahead and decide to sell them. Anyway do have a lovely evening dear, you look ravishing! xxx
Hi Sophie, in my opinion you should sell those Chanel jewels, at most keep a couple of brooches for yourself, they are very versatile pieces. But first of all, wear those earrings David gave you more often, because they are much prettier than Ydil's IMO

I really agree with this! ❤
Hi Sophie! Thank you for another great video. As for Chanel costume jewellery, I think you should sell some, but still keep the ones you like most. As you said, we all change and grow, maybe in 3-5 years you may want to wear them again.❤
Everyone changes. Life and fashion are all about change and I'm sure you will have no problem selling your jewelry to those who collect and re-sell as vintage and gently used. You have good energy around you and you will be successful!!
I only buy jewelry from professional jewellers and never from fashion houses. Tag Heuer is exellent.
Personally, I wouldn't sell your luxury jewelry. To me, fashion houses sell costume jewelry, so when I purchase them, I'm fully aware I'm not buying it for the quality. I think with the trend (due to the economy and understandably so) of quiet luxury on the rise and in social media constantly, it feels distasteful wearing logos. But in a few years (five or ten), when people get sick of the minimalism and miss the loudness, I think those jewelry pieces will come in very handy. It's why people always miss the boldness of the 80s Ultimately, it is your choice and you do what you feel you want to!

I totally agree. If you aren’t wearing them then you should sell them but now isn’t a good time. With the cost of living crisis and people not spending money, plus the current quiet luxury trend you are likely to get very little for them. I would suggest waiting, watching the market and selling them when the market price improves.
What an interesting video Sophie. I’m not personally into costume jewellery. I prefer jewellery with craftsmanship, made out of precious metals & stones (especially fond of art deco pieces). I personally think you should sell the Chanel costume jewellery, and use the money instead to purchase pieces from whichever reputable jeweller you prefer. Designer costume pieces don’t truly represent true luxury (which is word very vaguely used nowadays). They can be perceived as a piece of luxury by the masses, due to their brand connotations 😉. Apologies for the lengthy comment!
Hi, Sophie. Sell anything you are 95% sure you won’t wear-I believe you are probably done with the Chanel costume jewelry. You might keep one of the brooches such as the enamel one as a memento of your Chanel era!
I love old Cameo's real or not. I don't care what people think. If I like it I wear it. I don't follow trends. I also love Vintage 60's clothing. Happy Sunday.
Designer costume jewellery will come back eventually, and Chanel brooches are a classic look so even if you’re not wearing them at the moment, you might want to wear them later in life and then you’ll be kicking yourself buying them again for those extortionate prices 😂😂 I wouldn’t sell all of it. Keep a few pieces. Love the jacket/ blazer you’re wearing Sophie!

Sell them. At the moment they are still popular and you can get a nice price for them. I dislike high priced costume jewellery myself to be honest. Because it’s simply not worth it, not in craftsmanship nor in materials
I’m still sitting on the fence on lab created diamonds & gemstones. Your video is giving me food for thought.

I just can't with lab grown diamonds they aren't worth a lot on the second-hand market, and imo its not very sustainable at all. I understand it might be fun bc of the modularity but no. It's like faw leather. it's PVC, really, and PVC is plastic.

I’d definitely sell anything that has pearls or stones because they’re so frustrating when they keep falling out. Also, David gives such great gifts!
Hi Sophie and everyone and happy Sunday 😀. Thanks for sharing and definitely agree you have pieces in decent condition but are not using them, give Luxury Promise a go.
These vintage ruby earrings are so cute!
I have got rid of fashion jewellery and not missed the stuff. So, I cannot give advice except there is no point keeping the pieces with missing pearls.
Sophie, keep some of your brooches, they’re back in this year! And you can also contemplate selling some too, as this is the year to get good money for them as they’re back in style for 2024.
Hi Sophie! Love your videos! I LOVE the chanel cursive script type brooch! Please let me know if you sell this, I am interested!!
Some of the chanel jewellery with pearls/crystals missing etc someone will want to buy them .
Beautiful jewelry collection ❤
Thank you for the video!
Hi friend!! Please do let us know when / if you decide to sell the Chanel earrings and if we can buy from you :)
I really liked it when you said “do you remember in 2019…” and i was thinking yes I remember that video! I feel like you should keep a brooch or 2 because they are so classic and versatile. They are selling $$$$ for new and pre loved so you don’t want to have to buy another later down if you want it
I'm cleaning out my jewelry as well. I do this a couple of times a year. But I don't sell it. I give stuff to my nieces. Personally, I would sell whatever your gut feeling tells you to part with. Someone out there wants it. However, I think I would keep one brooch with the CC's. Something you can pin on a scarf or hairband, or scrunchie. I would probably even pin it on a plushie toy. 😅
Hi Sophie, I think you can still sell the items with loses. Just list them with a correct description on your resell platform. People like me will love to get them and fix them!
Sophie: you would look so cute in a ‘Bob’ cut on your hair. Your bubbly personality would ROCK it!
I'm not into logos, but I love the look of a Chanel brooch, and I love wearing brooches generally. So I've bought a lot preloved, I do think YSL does good quality costume jewellery, and while I've steered clear of the ubiquitous logo brooches, I do have a couple from them that aren't branded. If you're sure you are going to wear these things, then I'd definitely sell what you can, with the caveat of maybe keeping the best Chanel brooch!
If you have the space, keep them and in 5-10 years you can come back zo them or as an older lady. Maybe they will combine lovely with your future style?
Yes Sophie, sell that stuff. I could not believe how bad the Chanel quality is.
I sold all my chanel earrings years ago and most my chanel jewellery! I have kept 2 brooches and 1 necklace with a very very small logo! I have a few items also that were made by a girl that used to rework chanel vintage belts etc and make necklaces out of them. Apart from that I've gone off Chanel Jewellery I even sold my Hermes bangles as felt a tad tacky at times wearing them! I also share the love of Tag they are such underrated watches!
Hi Sophie! Would it be possible for you to do the Outlets shop with me’s and hauls all in one video. I love a 30 minute to an hour long or longer videos if that’s possible.
definitely sell.
Have you considered putting your brooches on a headband or wearing as a hair pin? You maybe able to fasten o brooch onto a fabric hair clip? Or even on a choker or thin shorter chain? I think you may regret selling them because the value has gone up so much if you wanted to buy it again in 10-15 years it will be so expensive

You’re so right! I think I’ll be keeping them, my tastes may change in the future. Thank you for the cool suggestions btw!!xx
I wear my Tag watch every day, 24/7. I also wear my emerald wedding ring n a diamond ring from my grandmother eve day. I wear all of my jewelry 24/7, i probably shouldn't wear my emerald 24/7 but i do anyway.... enjoy your week. 🎉Ev
I think you should keep a brooch or two you might regret getting rid of everything down the line I still love my one Chanel brooch even though I don’t wear it right now. Please consider it but ultimately the choice is yours. The Chanel prices don’t really come down in price though so if you change your mind later on you will pay more than double or triple later on to rebuy 😅☺️💕
You said it! It doesn’t look like how much you paid for it! Also, you can get look-alike everywhere for pennies. They just look fake and cheap.
I sell or give away what I no longer use unless it has sentimental value to me. Just my two cents 😊
Hi Sophie. I used to collect luxury costume jewelry. I have Chanel, Dior, and Givenchy. You get to a certain point where you look at them and decide that it's best to own the real deal because they have real monetary value in them. If you find yourself in a bind, you can always sell them to a jeweler or pawn shop. Luxury costume jewelry isn't well made unless they are true vintage pieces. They are hard to sell, which is why I still have my luxury pieces. Maybe when the economy improves, then I can sell them off to someone else who appreciates them and get at least a good portion of my money back. Good luck in selling yours.
It’s funny… how when we go thru our Jewelery , the past evaporates and we can relive time…..💥
Sophie, some of us might consider buying some of your 'tacky/broken' Chanel jewelry at a fair discount. There's no need to let it just sit in your jewelry box. Please consider. Thanks.
No I don't think you should sell. You would never rebuy at these crazy prices and maybe in 10 years you might wear it again. years ago I gave away all my David Yurman because every Tx woman had them. I am so sorry now ...they did not take up any space and I could always get rid of them. and as I look at them today I wish I had several of them back.
I would keep one or two which have pearls as they will go with your other pearl pieces . The rest I would sell and buy a fine ( real precious metal) jewelry. If you replace the costume pieces with fine you will never have that regret feeling.
I think you should sell the pieces you are not in love with anymore 🥰
After watching the whole video, I think you should sell everything that does not spark joy. You will lot miss it. I gave nearly all costuem jewellery away as well. And my mother in alw had kilos of it, even very well made pieces.
I never got into the Chanel costume jewelry so it is easy for me to say sell it. Here's my best To Sophie advice. If you know your taste has changed and you'll never reach for them again why not sell it? Make a few bucks doing so and give someone who is in the place you were when you bought it a proper discount so they don't pay an inflated sum at Chanel.
Don’t sell anything unless you need the money. Fashion has a way of coming back I style.

That's a tough call. Perhaps keep a few pieces that might have special meaning? Or perhaps one pin, a pair of earrings and get rid of the rest? I get it though, I think the whole climate has changed and so have a lot of our feelings about some of this type of item.
Sell them! I might buy them. (0:
Sell the Chanel for sure! And get rid of any broken costume jewelry!
I would just keep it, as I don't think you'll get a great price for it. People just aren't buying stuff like this at the moment.

If ir's broken, trash. Then set about with renewing your jewelry
Maybe weed out your least favorite pieces. You’re taste for Chanel could come back and it’s a lot to replace it.
Going off logo? I like that for you. You classy and you can easily pull off the old money style of luxury and be safe in this Society and economy.
Get rid of the costume jewellery. Keep your jewellery simple, diamond studs, a diamond solitaire necklace and an understated Rolex. You need no more jewellery than this. The Chanel costume jewellery is for a 70 year old.
What idea is it really with those watches? Let’s rip off Cartier? I mean…. You are not changing to non logo but rather more into RTW

At the end of the day you are not going to wear them so sell them. You are paying for the name not quality jewelery. Its bad energy hanging around the house.
Why would you sell jewelry? Have you fallen on hard times?

I’m genuinely relieved. I’m old-fashioned, I suppose. I remember when only gypsies would try to barter and swap their used items. Since it’s such a very small collection, why don’t you just offer the pieces to your scrubwoman or your husband’s secretary? I should think they’d be delighted!
That Chanel jewellery is hideous! Sell it! It’s tacky…….
