Genna, loved the "Too much condition" comment, had me laughing out loud! Alister, you didn't have to agree!!! I reckon she's "Prime"! 😍

Good your showing people the reality of farming, it can be very hard to make a living. Our neighbours just had his valmet tractor repaired, 5k for new axle parts.

$108 isn't bad at all. We're selling about half of our remaining lambs next week and will be lucky to get $140 average for a line of 42-50kg live weight lambs. Lamb a lot earlier than you up North obviously too. I think you're bang on to shift priorities around now. Trying to finish them all you'll be dealing with trying to find good grass to finish a tiny tail end for probably 2 months still. Even a 10% improvement in lambing % next year should make it a profitable decision. We're shifting a bunch of Friesan bulls store to do a similar thing and retarget feed.

Good on you folks and greetings from Oz...nice work in the yards there mate - very skillful indeed. Looking nice and green through Canterbury...had a bit of rain recently here but we're staring down a drier winter and spring than what I'd like. However, it is what it will be...cheers then,

Yeah store lambs can be a mixs bag with the price. This may be a dumb question, what about farming deer on your hill block? Would that be a thing for you to do.

We have considered deer but the fencing costs and volatility of the market make it risky for a new development in my opinion

May I ask you a question.....when you were crutching, you lifted the left leg on each lamb. I have never done that....what does that achieve? I have been selling fat lambs for a couple of months.....came to £142/head last week, which is incredible really considering our economy is, well is buggered basically 😅 Are you happy with $108.....it sounds pretty good.

That's $283.00 nz dollars, I can't understand why you are not making millions. Your land is cheaper, your groceries are cheaper, and nz farmers get no subsidies either

@@joedennehy386 That price only went up in last 3 weeks because of Easter, been pretty average before that.We can make good money on lambs as I fatten on stubble turnips. Some are feeding £400/tonne lamb creep...ouch. The trouble with farming is fluctuating prices. We can cope with low prices and we can cope with high prices but when it fluctuates wildly we are in trouble.Last year I paid £270/tonne for Nitrogen. This year I paid £895 ! Now it’s back to £460. It’s hard to budget for that! Our economy is a mess. Teachers on strike, nurses on strike, ambulance drivers not happy, junior doctors on strike and looking to emigrate.... I know some. We have no ministry of agriculture and no energy policy. Apart from that all good 🙄

Funny you should ask, I recorded it on video but the Chief Editor decided to cut my rather rambling monologue and my review went with it 😂 I genuinely love my hemprino jersey- used every day since I bought it. And I can machine wash it 😍 such feel appeal. I don't usually spend much on clothing so it was a big decision, but no regrets here. 😊
