I wish I would’ve caught the cutting on video, because the rocking motion of the rotary cutter nearly made me sea sick, that’s how much she was moving it lol I can’t wait to share the Z inspired dress once it’s done, we are almost there!

Thank you so much, Deb! It has been a good challenge for me to slow down and persist through projects and take that extra time. I think the bridal sewing at the start of the year helped me embrace this idea and I’m grateful for it. I really feel like that, this is my reputation on the line! Lol I have been sewing for a while and I STILL hit walls, I have found a way to embrace that about this sewing process and look at each of these instances as problem solving opportunities🤗 and boy have I problem solved!

My apologies for the delayed response, I’m struggling with how to describe what I did in words, so I search around to see if there may be a tutorial that could exemplify it. I found this tutorial which is very similar to what I did for the sleeves on the abaya, I hope that this clear and detailed visual will be helpful to you if you would like to try something similar! 🤗 I could see a possibility of adding little ties to the front band or a snap so that you can have a closure on the basis, however I have not tried this with any of mine
