Do you have an idea for a book, or perhaps a completed manuscript, and are interested in self publishing? In this video, I answer some common questions on the topic and specifically address using Amazon's KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) service.

That's a sticky bit. I have not found a decent open source or free schematic editor with .SVG file output. .SVG would give you the highest quality. I also do not have the time or expertise to set up something like GIMP for schematic editing. What I have done instead is to use the schematic capture portion of a simulator (pick your favorite), magnify the circuit so that it takes up the whole screen, and do a screen capture. Then I import it into an image manipulation program like XnView and tweak the image (a little filtering can reduce jaggy lines, and you can also reduce it to gray scale or fewer colors to shrink the file size). A little time consuming at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can move through a bunch of schematics fairly quickly. I'd much prefer .SVG file output from, say, TINA-TI, but that's never going to happen.
