There she is with her lovely glow face and smile. I was hoping that was what happen to you as I was concerned but figure that seeing how it was so close to the holidays if you were gong to going to get overwhelmed with orders. I was glad to hear that you busy with orders as i was concerned that maybe your illness had got the best of you trying to do the project and all your other work that you do. But here she is all glowing with her lovely smile and hopefully rested up and well and that you did good with all your orders and that all went well for you as well. So glad to see the camera seems to still be working well too as that would have been a damper on this new inspiration. Well at least there was some great shots of the lovely Els though maybe it's not going as planned yet. But I know you'll figure it out and we'll see some great shots in this new inspiration. You can do Els as I believe in you and you know I'm a big fan of your works. Well think thats it for me but so glad and thankful to see that you got slammed with your other work and again hope you did well there as I truly know how beautiful you work is in this work as it magically beautiful and truly beautiful keepsakes for all who buy them. Be safe beautiful Els as looking forward to more of you inspirations, your other beautiful work and the beautiful glow and smile of the lovely Els. 🥰🥰🤗🤗❤❤🙏🙏

Thank you, and yes definitely, he was the first real portrait photographer that caught my eye when I first started making photos. Looking through that book is so inspirational and to think he took some of those photos in the fourties… Crazy!

Interesting idea and very well implemented! Filmed to help the cause. I also find the laconic, concise comments very pleasant, not in a loud-mouthed manner as is often the case. Makes me curious about the other videos on the channel. Please continue !

Thank you very much, what a nice comment to get as a newbie to the KZread universe! :) I'm definitely not of the loud mouthed nature so trying to be as natural as possible. I'm currently editing a new video, it should be up in the next days. :)

Newman used a 4x5 to take the picture of Adolph Gottlieb. He tended to change his original compositions to a “hair-slitting degree. He heavily cropped his images and often changed the orientation of his pictures. He took a portrait of Picasso again on a 4x5. It’s a very tight crop on his face. The original photo of Picasso face made up 1/10 of the framed photograph then he turned the cropped image 45 degrees. It’s always interesting to see a persons contact sheet.

Yeah I saw the uncropped version of that photo, it's so interesting to see these things (I also love seeing people's sketches and notebooks for example). Didn't know he shot that photo on a 4x5, thanks for sharing that!

"A photo of a man in front of a black backdrop".......that man is painter / artist Adolf Gottlieb in front of one of his paintings. Circles and roundish shapes are one the main elements of his visual language. Its the artist AND his work, much like Stravinsky with the piano. Its a brilliant photograph. I love your work.

Hi! Thank you for your comment. :) I realise my description was poor, I’m still trying to get the hand of talking to the camera, I’m not scripting anything at the moment. I just dumbed it down at the moment as I did not have the photo/ book with me anymore at that time and was just describing the photo from memory. But you are absolutely right, it’s the artist Gottlieb with his work and yes this photo is such a work of art (which is why it inspired me I guess :))

@@elsvanopstal I want to repeat, that I really do love your work. I have been following you on Flickr for a few years. The former art professor in me just had to say something about Gottlieb.
