Thank you for sharing, been doing this for years
Thank you for your videos. Never heard the term stimming although I have some of the behaviors for years now. Good to have some understanding and not feel so weird about it. Thank you so much!
I did this many times as a young teen , it was when my feelings were hurt and I was experiencing so much emotional pain it somehow gave me relief to cut myself the scars are still there . I’ve also done the hitting my legs too , the worst part is people then think your crazy , I then moved on to starving myself and bulimia .tfs much 💓🕊🙏

I so appreciate you and I watched to the end and I cried because you identified my loved one
Self harming isn't just a way to gate the pain but there is also a sense of being in control of your own pain. Example: if anyone is going to hurt me its gonna be myself.

Yes. There are many possible underlying motivations. I did want to address that issue but figured the gating one would be the most relevant for SPD specifically.

@@BlaireM I'm glad people are starting to talk about mental health more. But there is still a long way to go, I know I can't be 100% honest without being put on a 72 hr hold.

God I'm clicking on all the videos in this series and immediately liking them so I don't lose them. The interaction between the stimming and psychological reasons for self harm is so interesting. It helps me understand myself.
