Good battle. The Seleucid player used their cavalry wisely and that turned the tide of the battle. They knew they would lose a head-on melee engagement if their melee infantry was unsupported and acted accordingly. Well done. One of the reasons Seleucids infantry actually managed to keep up with Galatians was the perfect use of meat-shield units on Seleucids side. Both units of hillmen were used perfectly: They went against unsupported levy freemen and after beating them, robbed the Galatians off the chance of making any serious charges in a wide part of the battlefront. At least 2 of Galatian legionaries lost the chance of using their vastly superior charge bonus against the Thorax swordsmen and were relatively weakened by those hillmen.

The Seleucids are probably one of the most fun factions due to their unit diversity. i think they are a top tier faction.

I love it everytime a Royal Peltasts turns things around, I agree indeed very Alexandrian!

I like Galatia's build, but I think he got too aggressive with his cavalry. As Galatia you do have amazing melee cavalry, but it is both limited (you can only bring 2 Cappadocians) and expensive (Noble Horse is pricey). This means you have to kind of use it sparingly. I have no problem with the early charges and the harassing with the Horse Skirmishers, but after that he needed to retreat them. Galatia very much needs the Cappadocian Cavalry as a backline sweeper. Just the threat of them alone will help keep people from outflanking you Galatian Legionaries. The Seleucid player, who I am pretty sure is Sol (That name though, come on Sol is this 5th grade in the boy's room LOL), immediately split the gaps with cavalry as soon as Galatia committed theirs. All the Seleucids needed to do then was stall while their cavalry killed slingers and rear charged melee units.

I'm not surprised that Seleucid can go toe to toe with top barbarian faction tbh. Seleucid along with Egypt are the only 2 "greek" factions that can do this.

I mean if someone is choosing galatia you really reserve all rights to choose another faction with really cost effective infantry and some good cav. So basically another barbarian faction or Rome, bc all other will lose at even price points since their infantry is just much worse at the same price

@@devanmcghee6123 yes, but we are talking about Seleucid here, which is a very different case. They don't have good cost effective infantries like barbarian factions or Rome at all. What they have to make up for the lack of good infantries are very good cost effective median cavalries, cheap 150 range archers (believe it or not, only 6 factions in the game have these guys) and the ability to bring more than 3 syrian heavy archers. It's actually much more fun and interesting to play as Seleucid rather than rome and barbarian factions.

@TheBikeOnTheMoon I like Greek factions and they are my favorite to use. Especially the successors because they all actually get things you need to succeed like heavy cav, or archers, etc. They all also have elite heavy infantry for the times you want to splurge in that department. But overall, I mean galatia is just better aa their cav is really not that bad either. And can cause lots of trouble

remake Rome is 2.5 good basic traditional old school warfare.

Royal peltasts carried that battle I think. Cleaned up the entire middle and right flank.
