Katie, need to stop at road cuts. Never know what you may find. One place in Arizona, in a road cut, was not expecting, beautiful Aragonite crystals. Arkansas road cuts, found beautiful fossils embedded. Many places to check out. Have fun.

I was recently out there and I was surprised of the crystals that I got from out of that area. As you said they are very delicate when they come out. It was well worth the trip going out there.
