Really? I speak no Spanish myself and always assumed it was about a poor guy going for a high class girl who said that money didn’t matter to her. I only caught the occasional sentence if anything though so I’m glad I was mostly on the money. I jam out to this bop from time to time. Love the energy!

A.B. produced all her music for this album. Her dad actually had to convince their label EMI Latin to let him do it because he was breaking such ground in the Tejano industry, but was still relatively unknown as a producer. He was actually called her secret weapon, because he knew what kind of music she liked. This album was actually really different also, from the rest of their other albums, because this one was more “Latin” as compared to Tejano.

Jack Reacts even tho she passed away before I was even born her music was so popular when I grew up that I didn’t even know she had passed away until I watch the Selena movie when I was 7. That’s how you know her music was very impactful in the Latin community. I mean she had a very short career but till this day she still has the best selling Spanish album in Latin American history and she is one of the best selling female artist as well in Latin America.

I highly recommend listening to her song Que Creías. That song has so much attitude and fierceness especially when she would bring people from the audience and sing directly to them. It's such a good song❤❤❤

I wished her father let her do some Latin Freestyle tracks back in the 80’s to give her some exposure in the English market.

This is one of my favorite Selena songs. It literally warms my heart. ❤️❤️❤️

Also, AB was really good about studying different forms of music in the Latin genre. He knew that in order to really cross over, he had to be good at all of the different sounds. That’s why in 1994, they toured Mexico, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, and a lot of other Latin American countries to make her a really big crossover star. They had a lot of trouble with their label crossing them over into the English market, because they thought that she wasn’t big enough yet. So that’s all of 1994 rying to prove that they could do the English album with a huge Spanish population backing them up.
