Selecting Factory Ammo For HUNTING - What's Best For You?

Спорт

Choosing suitable factory ammunition is one of the most important links in the chain that leads to a successful hunt. Greg outlines that the key things to consider are the style of hunting you do (up-close in the bush vs. longer ranges out on the open tops) and the size of game species you typically target.

Agree mate, there wouldn't be too many hunters that would disagree with that. He has given so much to hunting community for decades!

I have found the factory ammo usually shoots some of the best groups that being said I would get Nosler not Hornaday! Being a 60+ years collector reloader and hunter their ammo is more available but Nosler and Norma make the best most reliable ammo I’d your not handloading! Cheers and good hunting mate🙌

I recently purchased 50 rounds of Sako Gamehead .308 ammo from Gun City. Took them to the range to set up my scope. Out for the first 16 rounds, 3 did not fire! Took them back to gun City, the outcome was they sent them back to Beretta NZ who said they would only replace them with 20 rounds as only 3 did not fire. Actually more did not fire and I told the GC rep that it was not all used at the same time or range, but I could never have taken those out hunting after the first one did not fire. Who would? The whole box must be considered unusable. I have taken up reloading and will never have to buy another factory round ever again. Beretta won't stand by their product, so buyer beware.

If you can the customer service hit line and give them the lot number on the box they will send you some other ammo! Sako rules the gun industry and my 60+ years of collecting reloading and hunting have proved it time and again! I have 8 guns along in the shop being built on control actions and non controlled actions! I prefer controlled feed except with Sako’s because of how accurate and reliable they have proved to be🙌👏👊

I have been through nearly 200 rounds of the same ammunition and had flawless performance in rifle and on deer. Half inch groups from a ruger m77.
