The only reason he beat Ronnie is because he frustrated Ronnie by being boringly slow. His pace is grinding for a lot of players he faces. Selby is very talented but there is not a single aspect of snooker that he is better than Ronnie at.

This was, in my opinion one of the most thrilling and best finals i have ever seen.

Exactly, you don't have to like him as a player (I don't really like, I like quick, natural and attacking players like Trump, Ronnie, Lisowski, Zhao Xintong) but you have to respect his achievements and his unique way of playing and being able to adapt

That shot is just ball'in. To pace that thing, thread the needle between brown and black, and still get sufficient cannon to develop the next red, was simply amazing. One of the best clutch shots you'll ever see in this game.

I love how clean that cue ball is, the cue ball the lads and I use to play pool looks like an elephant shit it out

Brilliant match, Ronnie was very hard to beat at this time in his career . Only Selby got the better of him in that decade.

Ronnie is my favourite snooker player ever. I played for the joy of making 40 or 50 point run. Sullivan is so smooth and calm he is truly is inspiring.

Selby and others are great technicians with a high degree of perfection, but Ronnie is the one that turns snooker into an art. That is a level higher. Others produce great shots, but even when Ronny loses, he produces gems. Ronnie is a class of his own. He has the daring to take on impossible shots and often manages to turn them in a work of art. He never stops to amaze me. At times the Gods give him wings and he transcends into higher roams, where no one can touch him. Nowadays Ronnie still produces brilliant shots but then more often loses concentration on a shot that is not that hard. Selby won fair and square by playing a solid game. If snooker had points for originality, difficulty, beauty Ronnie would be unbeatable. That is why I always enjoy his games. Ronnie, may you continu to fly high until heaven calls you back.🍀

These two got to be the greatest rivalry in Snooker history.

Since reaching the semi Final and overcoming Robertson Selby has a Fantastic record at the 1 table at the Crusible winning 8 out of 9 and 9 put of 11 if you go all the way back to the Final in 07.The 2 loses were the 07 Final vs Higgins and the 2020 semi Final vs the man he beat in this final, The greatest player ever Ronnie O'Sullivan.Shows how truly special Selby is especially at the world's where I expect him to win it again and only God Almighty knows how many more he can win.

After watching this game i realised there are levels beyond galaxies. Well deserved victory.

this is my favouroite sport and i really enjoyed watching the final frame, thanks guys keep on mantaining the standard. Absolutely exceptional !

What is significant about this Championship is not the final frame but how Selby turned an almost insurmountable deficit into victory. I may be biased, being a Ronnie fan, but Mark Selby definitely appeared to have the run of the balls in the second half of the match, it was almost magical.

this win represents the win of the tactician over the entertainer .of the slow and heavy over the fast n furious. There is no question whether MS deserves the win, it is a fact that he has won, a fact which is tough to endure for RoS fans and me amongst them. Snooker has been popular for decades and its much due to players like RoS , Jimmy White and others. they all had FLARE , but its RoS who also has the winning capablities which sets him as the best there ever was .

i watch this final over and over again and still find it hard to believe that Ronnie playing in that fearsome manner can actually lose. Depressed fellow Selby is, but boy, he has got guts no other player has!

Well he was completely lost but O'Sullivan gifted the match like dozen times before.

The depth and breadth of emotional determination, intuitive ability, understanding and intelligence, combined with a mastery of the English language we are privileged to witness from the commentators is extraordinary, vis: "The frame to take you over the winning line can always be the hardest one of all." is just astonishing.

Ronnie's bad luck was very good on that day. 🤐. He missed too many easy potts and let the games away from him. Everyboday knows he is as good player of left as off right hand. Hatts off to Ronnie. 1000 centuries in snooker....incredible achievement.
