What annoys me the most on this standard pointsystem is the fact that it seems for a neutral person as if I would have been totally chanceless against the other players. Always behind and with a big pointgap. But looking closer to it, you'll recognize I was pretty much on the exact same level. Still, there is in the end this huge pointsgap, even to Piranha and Bren. And this only happens, because I had just 1 first place and many 2nd, while they had lots of first places. Would you say many many 2nd and 3rd places against those skilled players is a worse performance than like winning 2 of 5 rounds and crashing the 3 others? It looks to me so luck-dependant, how many 1st places you get. I'm driving without interface. When I finish, then I know the result. That has the advantage, that I don't get that much pressure, in case I'm in a battle cause I don't know that I'm in that. And when I finish, I had to realize in this match that I just got 2nd, also when I did my personal best times. Then it feels like I just drove the time in the wrong round. 1 round earlier or later and I would have won with the same time. These are my thoughts, why it seems so lucky to me. And it feels with less first places than others, you barely have the chance to gain back those points. This brings me always in this situation of being behind, and demotivates a lot. In some rounds later, also first mistakes happen, cause only 1st place is enough to get hope of catching up. I know that is an issue which annoys me way more than others. I have a pretty unique driving style, with so much safety in driving, which leads to less super times in finish, that would definitely be enough to get a 1st place with it. When I wanna risk, my head sais "no". That's some sort of skill I'm missing in match. But I wouldn't say that my performance is because of that worse than the performances of the others. At least I wouldn't say, that this should lead into this huge pointsgap. It feels like we could also play with the system that 1st place gets 1 point and all other 0. That would be almost the same than this here. To explain in this example why I have the opinion of having been equal to the others: Well, I looked how my standing in a 1v1 against each other player would look like. And the result is that I'm tied with Bren and Piranha. It is 14:14 after 28 rounds. But, I'm over 20 points behind them, and both didn't finish one lap. Flyer was pretty much the best one, cause he leads 19:9, and Cocow 17:10. Long time though, I would have been in lead against Cocow in a 1v1. But in points he was in lead at 68 and I was last. Though I was more often in front of him than otherwise. Those 2 players took together with Piranha a lot profit on the FS map in 1v1 obviously. But that's sth else. On the other maps I'm equal or even in front, but still they got more points. At least I'm not the person who ragequits in this situation. But ofc it feels bad to show a solid performance but because of the pointsytem to look like I was way worse than the others. All this, is really only effected by the pointsystem you use. You could take 5-4-3-2-1 and it would be totally different. Suddenly other drivers would be in front and others behind. All did the same performance, but the different pointsystem would reveal their performance in a different light. In physics performance has a specific value, but here it seems so relative. Feel free to put your opinion and argumentation here. But please keep it seriously. Cheers

+ScrewDMarius89 I think giving 10 points to first place and no more than 6 the second was something set on purpose to force every player to drive in a risky way, which makes stream/cups/spec more enjoyable to watch than players that would otherwise be satisfied with a second/third place and wouldn't try to reach first and take risky lines (and also let the current first take super safe lines which are just boring to see). I understand that it disadvantages you quite a lot since you're basically a time attacker - correct me if I'm wrong - that needs a lot of training time to get a sick personal best, but can only get "average" times on a regular basis. In spite of that, I think the rounds mode is (for now at least) the way it is and it is not relevant to say that you were equal to others since you obviously had less points that them, which means they were just better at this mode than you. Using an other score system would totally change how cups and tournament look like, and would maybe make them more boring to watch, cast, and play. (This is just my opinion anyway, and I would also like to know what others think about that)

+ScrewDMarius89 the reason why Piranha and Cocow took so many first places was the very unequal fullspeed map. It had not much more than fs involved and those who have problem in this style didn't have a chance to compete against Piranha, link etc. This point system is also used in ESWC I think, and it's proven as very spectacular and suspenseful. In my opinion the better way to make this more justified, would be to build as balanced maps as we saw in the Qualification-cups, I think they were better in that. Nevertheless you can be proud of your performance.
