Very nice cast Frost =) I don't really understand why the ESL cup mode is better than the old one. I mean when a player becomes finalist then he has a lot more attempt than in the usual cup mode (as he wins points and increases the pointlimit). I feel that it is a lot more harder for the other players to catch up. As a viewer, I liked the fact that it was "easy" for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th players to become finalist (as the pointlimit does not increase). I liked it because the pressure on the first player to reach finilist status is higher, he knows he has one or two rounds to close it out. I liked it because we often see some great come back when a players cannot manage to take first place after reaching the finilist status. If I were a player, I might have liked the ESL cup mode better as it more "fair" I would say. (Indeed, why are the other gathering points when you don't ^^) So for me, esl cup mode is better for the players but not so much for the viewer. That is a decision you made. I totally respect that. I just wanted to express my point of view on this matter =)

+Kyle Of Klanach To me, it's better because there are simply more ways a match can develop. Yes this final wasn't very exciting, but that's because it just wasn't very close - and that's okay. With normal cup mode, I just see the same things happening every single time which is not interesting to me as a viewer, player or caster. Sure it can be exciting, but i think it loses its excitement if the outcome is always the same or similar. With ESL Cup Mode, the same exact things can happen too, but also a lot more things can happen which is nice because there's more "stories" to be told that way, and once these very close matches do happen they become MORE special and exciting and we'll remember them much more as well. And yes it does reward players who have built up a significant lead a bit more. And to me, it's totally fine if a player dominates a match and win it that way. He deserves it, and that doesn't have to be artificially prevented imo.

+fB / frostBeule Ohh thanks for your reply. It is now a bit more clear to me. I did not realized there could be more "stories". I don't have your experience and backgroud in Trackmania, so I still don't really know what kind of story will happen, but I trust you and I am sure it will be great. Still you were wrong on one point: it was an exciting final ^_^ Maybe not as exciting as GA, ESWC finals but still it was exciting :)

Very entertaining format. Some players excel at certain styles, but in the end the all-round players prevail. ESL cup-mode is very nice, but I think it is slightly too hard to take over finalist status. Maybe juggle with the points a bit?

+gyanjo Nice to hear you like the format! Yeah, it's possible the points could be altered to make it a little better. But I think if so the modification should be very minor.
