To all my new Sekiro players, when you get to this guy, there's a safe spot that you can rest and reset the mobs right behind this big mob in that room. He's a good hard mob to learn how to deflect hard hits and get better at dodging and deflecting game mechanics, which will help you a lot in the long run. Grind him a little bit, kill the dogs and try to fight him head on, win a few times and you'll notice you'll do better against other mobs and navigate sekiro's maps much easier. It will even help you against bosses like the Drunkards because they hit hard like this guy. Since there's a safe spot behind him, every time you die once just run for your life and reset mobs by resting on that totem.
