Excellent review! I like the classic look of the Citizen but the movement of the Seiko wins it for me. Thumbs up!

@@TheRazerlg no,he's right,you're wrong,the 82-- series has been going since 1977,making one of the most proven movements on the planet,and ten years military service with the divers section of the Italian marina militaire means it's proven it's robustness in the most extreme conditions, something no Seiko has managed

That Seiko is twice the price of the Citizen, not sure if the comparison is fair... Really great video anyway, thanks.

You are very right sir! If you are lucky on the second hand market you can find the mini turtle quite affordable. That’s what I did 😁 Thanks for the compliment.

Only 96g and can withstand 50ATM. That’s clever.

The only problem with these Citizen divers are their stem tubes are too short not giving them enough threads and they will wear down the threading in the crown and start to leak, same as the NY2300's.

Too bad Citizen discontinued the NY0040 200 meters Diver's Fully Automatic watch, the one with crown on the 8 o'clock dial. All Citizens watches now are all running on Solar quartz movement!!!

Yes, but in Europe, at least, you can still buy it for around 165€. Bought the black version in Chrono24 from Germany about a month ago.

I agree. Here there are very sweet deals still to be made with the black dial and blue dial iterations of the NY0040.

In Europe, even today, a new one can be ordered through official suppliers, it is also available on the Citizen website for Europe.

They're everywhere now thankfully I have both blue and black and I'm considering buying another

Citizen hands down,sorry but every Seiko I've ever owned has been poor for accuracy and has left me disappointed... The citizen on the other hand is an absolute tank and one of the most proven automatic movements In the world,the 8200 series has been around since 1977!

I always wanted an atlas on my desk. When I finally found it in a bookstore I needed to have it. To use it also in my videos indeed, that idea I got from Just One More Watch, which is a fantastic channel!

The Seiko is a better watch all day long. That doesn't mean the Citizen isn't an all time classic. The Seiko is better technically, but the aesthetics are better on the Citizen. I have the black version of the Citizen and even though it is black it's a beautiful inky black like a black hole it sucks all light in il never sell it.

Thanks for your comment. The inky black NY0040 is indeed wonderful. I used to own both the blue and the black Citizen version. I sold the blue one. The black one is a keeper!

Technicaly citizen is better. Dont forget for 10 years was in service by marina militare. Tested to 500m and passed. Miyota movement is far better than seiko mov about robust and accuracy
