The Sega Genesis Mini, known as the Mega Drive Mini in regions outside of North America, is a dedicated console modeled on Sega's Genesis. The Mini emulates the original console's 16-bit hardware, and includes 42 games ported by M2. It was released in most regions on September 19, 2019.
The Mini is half the size of the original Sega Genesis video game console. Inside the unit is an ARM-based SOC ZUIKI Z7213.The flash memory inside is 512mb.It includes either one or two (dependent on region's bundle options) full-size replica controllers that connect through USB, thus original controllers are incompatible, a USB-to-Micro-B power cable (USB AC adapter in North America), and an HDMI video cable. There are separate releases for North America, Europe, Asia and Japan, as the Mini reproduces the original console's decal and color variations in those regions.The North American and European Minis include three-button controllers, while the Japanese controllers have six buttons.Officially licensed six-button controllers made specifically for the Mini are also sold separately in North America and Europe .Officially licensed, non-functioning (purely aesthetic), add-on shells of a miniature Sega CD, a miniature Sega 32X, a miniature Sonic & Knuckles lock-on Genesis cartridge and a miniature Sonic the Hedgehog standard Mega Drive cartridge are also sold as a separate purchase in Japan.
The Mini includes 42 games, though the exact selection varies by region.For example, the Japanese Mini includes all three regional versions of #CastlevaniaBloodlines and #ContraHard Corps, while the North American Mini lets users play #PuyoPuyo by changing the language to Japanese despite the Japanese Mini not having the game included.The European Mini does not allow players to switch to American versions, except for the games which were not originally released on a #MegaDrive cartridge in Japan, such as #Vectorman, #EarthwormJimand #VirtuaFighter 2. The games have a saved state feature to pause and resume progress and can be played in either the original 4:3 ratio or cropped 16:9 widescreen, with HUD elements modified to fit onto the screen.Two bonus games, #Darius and #Tetris,were never released for the original system and were newly ported from their arcade releases.
The #SegaGenesisMini was first announced at the Sega Fes show in April 2018.The announcement was part of a trend of releasing smaller versions of 80s and 90s #retro #videogame consolesIt was delayed in September, missing the console's 30th-anniversary window, when Sega dropped its partnership with #AtGames,whose 2017 Sega Genesis Flashback was critically panned for its production quality.Instead of using AtGames's Flashback software on a Japan-exclusive Mini, Sega themselves handle the production of the system.he system is set for release worldwide on September 19, 2019,except in Europe and the Middle East, where it is expected to launch on October 4, 2019.
M2, a reowned first-party company specialized in emulation of older generation video games of Sega's on the Sega Ages and Sega 3D Classics Collection, is producing the Mini's ports.Sega emphasized first-party production quality in its marketing for the Mini,as the company returns to the hardware business after last producing the Sega #Dreamcast in 2001.The menu music was written by #YuzoKoshiro, who was also the composer of some games in the collection, including The Revenge of #Shinobi, #StreetsofRage 2, and #BeyondOasis.

It depends where are you live if you live in Europe you can buy from local shops Gamestop, smyth and cex you can also buy from eBay or amazon. If u live in US you can buy from Gamestop, ebay or amazon and if other countries than ebay and amazon are the best place to buy

I was a massive Mega Drive fan... We had the mk1 and Mega CD... Loved it! The hardware looks very cool, and the emulation plays great! BUT, it looks awful! Sharp and jaggy... All it needs is a simple filter to make it look like a regular crt tv image! I play Sega games all the time on a 55" lcd, using Kega Fusion pc emulator, The filters are spot-on too! My games can be played in either PAL or NTSC, and look just like they did, back in the day! I might buy an old Mega Drive to display, just for the nostalgia, and carry on playing games on the 'fusion', the way they were meant to look :-)

I love all the old game consoles but the problem is the tv because the game quality is shit 🤮🤮🤮 so I just bought for unboxing and put on the shelf. I hope they will make crt flat tv which we can play in high quality graphics they way we play in 90s and 00s 😊😊😊

J martin you seem to know alot about games and i wanted to ask you a question. I want to play the toki game but i want the original arcade one. What console and what game do i need get to play it. I tried looking up at genesis videos of the game and it doesnt look the same. I am confussed pls help. Thanks
