Probably going to order a couple of these kits come payday. These tutorials kick @$$. Gives me the confidence to attempt to repair my old Game Gear myself.

I just bought a case from you guys and you sent me more than I asked for. Lol. I kind of want this mod but I also don't. 🤔

I didn’t clip out the original wires, the new ones just run along it and zip tied together.

Simple enough!

Wow a no sauder mod that's very awsome. Most of the mod videos I watch have saudering involved.

I would like to see an install for the TFT screen you mentioned. Sometimes I don't know whether to order it since I don't know whats involved.

Pretty good tutorial. Kind of sad that you have to remove the original battery connectors tho. Question. What's the little switch on the rechargeable battery board for?

To enable or disable 34v. If you're using the original LCD, switch it ON. If you're using a modern LCD switch it OFF. This prevents you from having to cut the 34v wire when doing the RetroSix CleanScreen mod, which I would assume is the main purpose of it.

I actually just removed most of the springs, left one spring in and the original wires are intact. The way I did it, completely reversible not that I ever would do that.

Unfortunately I just did all of this exactly as you did, (yes I made sure everything was connected tight and properly) and it won't power up. I know it has power because the lights on the board come on when I hit the switch. But no screen or sound.

Can you play while it is plugged in and charging?

Which screws are you usin to close the shell? i cannot close it because the retrosix screw dont screw in

Are you referring to the gamebit screw (star shape)? If so it is omitted. We used the screws from the shell kit I believe

@@HandHeldLegend once closed and tighten with retrosix screws, dpad directions, specially diagonals, are not working. I dont know if battery upgrade could be the cause.There is nothing blocking the dpad

When I charge it, it gets pretty warm. Is that supposed to happen?

I feel bad for anyone who doesn't go on any kind of road trip or other trip with their parents if they're over 18.

Now if there was a drop in modern LCD kit. I'm not comfortable enough in my soldering skills even with the wire free cables.

Now just got to wait to get these from retro six at a fair price of $31 instead of $45. 😒

Bet you only get an hour or so battery life before you have to recharge.
